A promising campus life with well bulilt infra

- The college infrastructure is great with well lit classrooms which are fully air conditioned and have comfortable seats. The hygiene is well maintained throughout the campus especially washrooms. The faculty is highly skilled and qualified pass outs of top universities such as DU and JNU. No classes are canceled in this college.
- The campus life provides rich experience throughout regular fests , a plethora of events like photography, open mic , ted x, singing, dancing and much more which eventually provides exposure to students.
Dislikes
- The drawback of this college is that the fees is very high and hence makes a hole in the pocket of the students.
- The internship and placement options are very limited and not up to the mark having an average of 4 to 6lpa for nearly all courses.
Remarks :
I got admission in this course through an online entrance exam conducted by IPU itself named IPU CET. The admission process is purely based on merit of the entrance and there is no interview or group discussion.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as I was very inclined towards literature and have a knack for both creative and academic writing. The faculty here is highly qualified and well read , passed outs of top universities including DU and JNU. They are very cooperative and utilise every lecture to its fullest by including open ended discussions and every one's point of view is welcomed. The exams are conducted every semester in a smooth way and is doable if one has attended classes regularly.
Internships Opportunities :
The companies connecting with the placement cell mostly look out for job roles of creative writing and editing. One such company where my senior got placed was Jumpstart with the job role of content writing.
Placement Experience :
The placement offers and job opportunities in BA English course are very limited. There is a separate placement cell for department of english but one needs to have a well polished skill set and some work experience in form of internships to bag the placement offer. One can expect a salary around 4 to 6 lpa as a fresh graduate. The number of students placed in this course are low as most students either opt for higher education or look out for job role well suited for them.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college fees of one year is around 98 thousand and total fee course is around 2 lakh 85 thousand that is approximately round about 3 lakhs .There is security money of 5K which gets fully refunded after course completion.
Campus Life :
VIPS has an amazing campus life. Every year SPANDAN is conducted on a big scale which consists of famous singers, comedians and music bands. There are lots of societies which make the colleges life more happening. A large number of photography, singing, dancing,writing and business related competitions are held regularly besised creative activities and other events including donation drive and awareness camps. The infrastructure is really good as compared to other colleges. The classrooms are well lit with fully air conditioned facilities and comfortable seats. The library is spacious with a variety of books besides a treasure of online library accessible by computers too. Course books are also available though less is number compared to the number of students. There are lush green lawns where students play cricket, football and other games.

The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
