Remarks :
Admission is based upon class 12th mark as well as CUET exam mark. Some seats,i.e 50% are being allocated based on CUET marks of the students. Also, other 50% seats allocated to students based on their performance in board examination of class 12th. The good thing about the university is it's environment. One of the best environment a university/college can have. There is a very good environment of healthy compitition, discussion, debate ets exit is the campus. Also carrying the 123 years legacy of the university is also a huge achievement for each and every student of the university. Students should study well, you will get eventually selected. It's little bit difficult but not too much. Each year the cut off keeps on increasing, but you can assume it as 90+ percentage is safe here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since I studied b.sc in mathematics, I can confidently say that the teachers are very friendly and helpful. They become ready to help each and every student at any point of time. Also , the friends of mine from different department told me that their teachers are also the same, very helpful. Onc can get everything out there. In case of qualification of teachers, they are very highly qualified. Near about 90-95% teachers are holding p.hd degree from very good Universities of the country.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The annual admission fee is 5000(Approximately). It includes each and every expenses of the student for the whole year; {except examination form fill up fee, which is 1100 to 1400 depending upon the subject}. The annual admission fee includes, eg: tuition fee, magazine fee, student union fee, library fee...etc . You have nothing to pay for the year after paying annual admission fee and exam form fill up fee. i.e , Admission fee =5000(for all) Examination form fill up fee = 1100 (for arts subjects) Examination form fill up fee= 1500(for science subjects)
Campus Life :
Cotton University and fest is also a very associated thing with each other. Near about 5-6 major fest(Cotton feasta, bihu, cultural night..etc) held throughout the year, also many small fests like "abege" held throughout the year. The university have many social group which are working on different aspects of society like environment, poverty in society etc. the university also have different literary society,drama society,musical society etc.
Hostel Facilities :
No, i didn't live in hostel but as my friend opted the hostel, so I can say that everything I'm the hostel is good except one thing,that is food. But the experience you'll get in hostel it's beyond imagination.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
