- Faculty and college life are good , the overall environment in our college is very good, it's peace here
- The students here have a productive and progressive mindset and the college is itself out of any type of politics el that is great
Dislikes
- Campus is not so great and I have seen some students struggle as pg rents are high and there are no hostels in college itself .
- The college is at a location away from the main city of shimla, so we have to travel far in case to take a bus back home to our city so that is a problem too but that's generally Managable
Remarks :
A areentrance exam is conducted every year called as HPUcet, PCm subjects are asked , and the exam level stays from moderate to tough. Then once the exam is done, in around a month first list of candidates come who are allotted their branch based in their preference in the online applications form, and the marks they got . 5 to 6 such lists come and at last students are given a week to submit the 73000 addmition fees, and if a student do not submit the fees in the time given his name gets removed and that seat is alloted to someone else based on ranking system . Now talking about the college, it's not very good but nice enough, there is only one building of our college , there is no campus other than that, that is the complaint of the most people, rest teachers are good, are masters of there subjects, we get free wifi, library acess, get stifunds if working for research and development, have good labs. The college itself is at a very good location, summerhill is a good place to be.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am in IT branch , I chose this branch as IT sector is growing fast nowadays and also I have already leant some programing in school and find it quite fascinating so I guess it was good for me to chose this cource. Our faculty is heigly qualified, most of our teachers have done there phd,s from prestigious colleges from India and from abroad too for example Our digital electronics teacher holds a PHD from IIT madras and has a work experience of 3 years in MIT. Teaching method is also good but you won't get spoonfed here you have to yourself take intrest and ask questions . Exams happen two times a semester, mid term exams can happen anytime as per teacher's wish. Final semester exams happen in July for even semesters and in December for odd semesters. These exams are easy to moderate and solving previous 5 year question papers helps a lot.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done a internsip at NIT hamirpur, the experience was great but there was no stifund. But I learnt a lot there, I wasworing under once of the most sophisticated professor I know and that too in such a prestigious college
Placement Experience :
Campus placements are not much, every candidate who wish to appear in placements and do not have any backlogs left can come. An average of 4 lakh is provided and the heighest package till date is 8 lakhs. Some companies that have come are Amazon, vipro etc. Most of the students here want to go for heigher studies and this there are low placements but the scores of our students in GATE exam is quite high . There are also some startups that are run by studentw who are currently studying and are in final or pre final years.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For first semester UIT charges 73000 rupees then after that, for odd semesters 3rd,5th... They charge around 60000 and for even semesters 2nd, 4th...they charge around 40000. So the study charges peryear coat around 1 lakh rupees
Campus Life :
The anual fest UTKARSH takes place in November every year, it's a grand even and takes place in HPU auditorium, it's a 3 day event and has everything dance, music, star night everything it's great overall. Library has 8 different types of newspapers for students, and have almost all kind of books, and if we want some books to be in the library that are not, we can directly tell our librarian and he orders some copies of that book in around a month . Classrooms are spacious and have a digital board, a projector and a chalk board each. Extracurricular activities do not happen much other than fest, in even semesters a anual sports meet happen, but the participation and hype around it as not much.

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs
