Remarks :
The main factor that made me choose this college is unpredictable and lovable weather. In this college mostly you won't find bad aspects except study pressure The admission process is first you need to secure a good rank in JEE Advanced which is conducted once a year in the month of may - june and then seat is allotted through JOSAA counselling and regarding cutoff it varies based upon branches For this you need to prepare of Mains exam first and need to qualify to attempt Advanced exam and mains exam is conducted twice in a year in the month of January and April and best of two is considered
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose Mechanical engineering because this particular IIT in Guwahati is famous for mechanical engineering branch it might be bit tough course but you enjoy a lot during the learning process Faculty in this institute are highly qualified exams are conducted twice per semester mid-term and end-term and in between this terms quizes are conducted by respective faculty
Internships Opportunities :
No I haven't yet opted any intern as the intern season starts from Semester 6 that is 3rd year of your course . There are a lot intern opportunities especially for women there is a particular reservation for them
Placement Experience :
For placements you need to maintain good CPI and based on your CPI your package is declared. Few reputed companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe visit every year and recruit few and package ranges from 20LPA to 2cr
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In this institute per year 2 semesters are conducted and course fees are paid in terms of per semester and each semester it costs around 140000 including hostel and course fees. Campus Life :
Other than academics there's a lot to explore in this campus like there are many active cultural clubs and social clubs where you find a lot to learn and enjoy There are mainly three fests are conducted Techniche-september, Udgam-Feb, Alcheringa-January (Annual fest) There are almost every active sport you can find with a well skilled coach in every sports who helps you to train for tournaments
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel rooms are system generated allotments there are 14 hostels present in this campus and you are allotted randomly once your admission is conformed . The mess quality is good and you will find a variety of items to eat

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
