- The best thing is the Library that is open 24/7. The hostel contains many dhabas and restaurant which is feasible enough.
- You can safely move from one place to another even at 3 or 4 at night. The boys hostel is open for girls visit as well. This makes the stay easy. The nature of gender neutrality is very much visible.
Dislikes
- Sometimes it's too much political and creates a dangerous atmosphere.
- Caste based difference is being mentioned a lot though that's not too much visible.
Remarks :
JNU is one of the best colleges and 2nd in NIRF ranking. The admission is through CUET(Common University Entrance Test) examination. The admission is quite difficult in JNU because the seats are very less. For my course i.e. MA Sociology there's only 96 seats from all over India. The examination is from moderate to difficult level. Jawaharlal Nehru University takes the students on the basis of their core paper marks i.e. in CUET there are two papers. One is the general paper A (25 questions of 4 marks each= 100) and core paper B (75 questions of 4 marks each= 300). Total marks is out of 400. But JNU doesn't consider the Paper A marks, it only considers paper B marks therefore in order to get admission here in jnu you have to get gopd scores in paper B. I got 246 marks out of 300 and therefore it was quite possible for me to get admission. The merit list is high and also students from rural areas get quartile points of 7 marks to 5 marks extra in order to encourage rural development.
Course Curriculum Overview :
There are total 16 credit for 4 semesters. There are different optional courses which students opt from different other centres. We have our centre as Centre for study of Social Systems. We can call it as CSSS. So, CSSS students can take optional from CPS( centre for political studies, CHS(centre for Historical Sudies) etc. Also the language courses are there for Bachelors. The course curriculum is prepared by the professors themselves and in each semester we have different courses. These courses vary from methodology course to popular culture course, etc. The professors are mostly from renowned universities. Also we have a colloquium program on every Thursday which makes it more interesting. Term examination or Mid terms are held as per the academic calendar and thereby students have enough time to prepare for the exams . Also we have different presentations, term papers and other things like National conference which helps us improve our overall knowledge.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I've opted for many internships during my course study like Ambedkar international city centre, where I was an intern whose responsibility was to take care of the research activities and also prepare a book review along with different programs report that were happening there.
Placement Experience :
JNU provides an atmosphere for the higher education, it has helped many students to pursue their dreams from outside India as well. There's no placement cell yet for our course however we have the best education so we can find jobs outside easily.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The detailed fee structure is that we have to pay a maintenance fee of around 1430 rupees per semester along with the total semester fees of rupees 175. So the total fees for a single semester is around 1605 rupees. Also the total yearly fees is around 3210. The two year master course costs around 7000 rupees, which is actually the best thing one can find. There is a scholarship program as well, which is known as MCM i.e. Merit cum means scholarship, here the amount that students get is 2000 rupees per month. There are other scholarships as well like for the Odisha students there is Odisha scholarship program, these are some scholarship programs which help students with economically backward section to get the benefits of the best academics.
Campus Life :
The best campus life is there in JNU because students from different backgrounds different countries come together and make their presence. We have North Eastern students, GSP students (global studies program students). We have the Ambedkar central Library where we can access the benefits of reading rooms for 24/7. The best part is this university has a safe atmosphere which creates a gender neutral aura. There are inter and intra school competitions for different sports and also we have elections for political parties which strengthens the democracy of the students.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel food is cheap and comparatively the best food for that cost. The food contains the breakfast which has milk, bread and butter as mandatory and rest like dosa , vada, idli, pasta , paratha etc as per daily schedule. The mess bill is around 2200 to 2500 per month.

But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
