My overall experience in the campus of doon university with pursuing a full time degree.
Likes
- I like the infrastructure of the buildings also as I mentioned there are personal rooms for each students in hostel. We have a huge library building.
- There is a huge auditorium called the nityanand auditorium which hosts different programs. This college is very active with programs of languages and with their institutions and different cultural programs happens here.
Dislikes
- I do not like the washrooms of this college
- The faculty is sometimes not very supportive
Remarks :
It has the course which I needed, in my state it is the only government college with language courses . It has a huge and beautiful campus, with all facilities near by and amazing view of mountains and different species of birds. It has good cultural programs like igaas which is a garhwali festival. It has safe and good environment. There is equality for both gender in this college. The admission process of this college - Doon university takes personal exam it is not merged with other things like cuet hence the competition is less, we need to fill the form online with our proper certificates then appear for exams later the merit list comes which tells us about our performance and whether we are selected or not. Then later we need to submit our fees and take our seats as there are less seats, in my courses in 2022 there were only 25 seats for French later it was increased. We need to submit our certificates and the admission is done.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as I had a huge liking for learning languages and different cultures and in this era of people running over neet and iit i went for languages because it is easier and there is less competition also it works as developing the personality of an individual. The qualification required for the faculty for my course is mostly masters from a known university or phd degree in French . The teaching methods here are quite interesting as they focus on oral speaking they make us do different activities and an interesting assignment as making a video with stranger asking about a particular language.
Internships Opportunities :
There are no internships in this college. Hence I have nothing to say about it but we need to find interships outside college which is like our project and we get our internal marks on that basis or else we need to do an assignment in our last semester
Placement Experience :
Minimum of 7 cgpa for eligibility for placements. Companies like Amazon and decathlon comes and hier students of languages. Highest is 25,00,000 p.a which I have seen my seniors getting. 40 percent placements. I wish to work in corporate job after my degree and i am looking forward for placements from my college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fee is 34,200 Tution fee is 10000 for each semester, 7000 for other fee, 200 for cultural fest (paid only once in a year ). For odd semester like 1,3,5 the fee is 17,200 but for even semester like 2,4,6 the fee is 17000 . There is a deduction of fees for sc / st but no deduction for ews category Scholarship are given on the bases of category and merits The scholarships given on the bases of merits is given to top 5 students of each classes and for all courses which is known as C.M scholarship and other scholarships are given on the basis of financial conditions which needs income certificate and other requirements.
Campus Life :
Life at campus is pretty peaceful and soothing here, igaas a fest which takes place during November happens it is like a diwali fest. Other fest are holi fest which happens mostly during march. You can find books of your course in the library and other books also and bring them home easily by issuing them. There are groups and sport clubs here, which includes cricket, kabaddi, badminton , football and basketball. There is nukkad natak for acting, and natraj for dancing.
Hostel Facilities :
The food quality is good in here. We get proper meals like rajma chawal, kafi chawal, dal chawal, bhatura etc. For breakfast it is fruits, chai and milk with paratha Or sabzi and paratha and we get dessert for dinner. Here in hostel we get personal rooms which we can decorate accordingly. It comes with a half bed, table, chair and almirah.

Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.

To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.

College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.

Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.

I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
