Basically If you belong to the catholic minority, the two most preferred colleges after your HSC would be St. Andrews or St. Xaviers. Based on a complete research about st.andrews college ( faculty, sports, extra curricular activities, the Library etc) I chose to opt for St. Andrews college for my HSC and degree. St. Andrews college is comprised of a great faculty with supportive teachers. Further the library is really peaceful and spacious for the students to complete their notes, make projects and with the systems for the IT students.
The teachers of st. Andrews college are really good with their teaching method and explanation. Teachers of BAF were really helpful and supportive for personal as well as from the academics point of view. The projects and presentation were to be performed in the respective class itself in presence of the respective subject teachers. So overall the faculty, the teaching and office staff are really good.
No I haven't opted for any internship or scholarships. A friend of mine had opted for the internship in XYZ company and is currently working for a banking process of a bank app. He go placed for that process after completing a 3 month non paid internship.
On completing your graduation , we get offered internships usually after the second year. There are internship opportunities in the feild of finance for the BAF students after graduation. On completing your 2-3 months paid/non paid internship you get placed for a job in finance with an avg salary of 5 to 6 LPA
The BAF / BCOM course fees for the degree college is 17,585 with catholic minority and for BCOM is 7k for one academic year. However there are a few scholarship opportunities provided by the college on completing your graduation
I did surprisingly make a lot of friends in the 5 years of my time at st. Andrews college. The students of my batch were helpful and friendly. While the CR and SR of the class are always ready to help. Canteen of st.andrews college is a great place to chill with friends and make new friends. I personally think, even an introvert will definitely find friends in the college canteen.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
