IIT tag was the only major reason for selecting IITD. JEE exam is mandatory to join IITD. The good aspects are its forgiving and nurturing but people are diverse and there are many bad things going on as well.
Just because of JEE rank, I chose civil engineering. The faculties are great and very educated, most of them are very chill and forgiving and are doing excellent research in their fields. Exams were difficult and relative grading is very tough. And there are minor and major exams in one sem.
Not in first year. But I'm looking forward to working for experience, team building and skills development. Iitd offers amazing facilities for intern opportunities and seniors are a great help for getting intern.
Placements at IIT Delhi are among the best in the country, providing students with exceptional opportunities in diverse industries. The institute's Career Services Office (CSO) organizes placement drives, inviting top companies for recruitment. Eligibility Criteria for Placement: Students must meet the academic requirements set by both the institute and the recruiters. Registration with the CSO and adherence to placement policies, including participation in training sessions and pre-placement talks, are mandatory.
Basically 1.15 lakh is tuition fees and 60k is hostel fees including mess, every semester. No other additional charges. This is for general category, for categories there is deduction in fees. SC and ST have no tuition fees and OBC-NCL has 1/3rd tuition fees. A lot of scholarships are available but mostly for category students.
Rendezvous in October. BECon in January. Trust in February. There are a lot of books in the library and there are great amenities and A-class sports infrastructure. Clubs and social life is a little hectic but very fun.
Hostel fees mentioned above, 60k per sem. Food is edible to say the best. Menu is pretty basic but doable. Infrastructure is pretty bad, and walls are broken and mirrors are cracked, hostel is just about the vibe with the people and the infra is very bad.

But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
