I chose this college based on my own research, and contacting some of my high school seniors. This college only takes admission based on KCET entrance exam, and has a fairly low cutoff, so getting in is a bit difficult. There are no interviews/GDs for admission, if you get your KCET seat alloted in UVCE, then you're automatically in (as long as you do all the process by completing the required steps, as per the KEA website instructions.
I chose AIML course, as it's the trend these days, and I heard that it was very similar to CSE/ISE, so I can easily switch to any specialization. Just like in every college, our college also has some good and some bad faculties, but the good faculties are good and helpful. Teaching methods are a bit antique, majority of them don't use projectors/slides/smart boards. Our exam coordinators are strict and timely. They are held timely almost every time (unless an unavoidable event comes along) Our curriculum and exams are generally a bit more difficult than other private colleges.
Internships start at 6th semester. If you get internship offers before, you can go after taking the HOD's permission. Personally I am in 3rd semester right now, so I cannot give a definite answer to this question.
Placements are very good in our college. Every year 150+ companies visit, and placement percentage is 97+% in CS branches. Highest package this year was around 40L (forgot the name of company) And almost 10-15 ppl got 25LPA package this year 2024-25.
all included fees of INR 45750(for all categories except SC/ST) INR 750 (for SC/ST) 2200 per sem (for all categories) For scholarship, you can apply for SSP and other scholarships, and they'll give you any necessary documents you'd need. Scholarships usually depends on which scholarship you apply for, and your caste/category and merit. However you can usually get min 15-20k INR.
Campus Life is just okayish. We don't have an extraordinarily large or cutting-edge campus. I haven't personally seen many sportspersons in our college. Fests we usually have 2-3 per year. One is Kannada Rajyotsava themed ethnic day and ethic-vibe fest called "Vaibhava". Other one is our cultural fest "Milagro", a bit modern with DJ night and cultural programmes. Our library has a big collection of books and journals, not a single complaint about that. We have clubs for photography, Kannada literature, Quiz, pop culture club, music and dance, fashion etc. We also have technical clubs like Google Developers group and MARVEL. You can check out uvce marvel on Google for their website.
I haven't opted for hostel. But this is what I've heard from hostelites from our class Food menu includes daily morning eggs, and non-veg food twice a week. So it's not very recommended for pure vegetarians. Food is of good quality and is usually served hot. Hostel rooms are average But hostel is very affordable, at 13500 INR per semester. I personally stay in a community hostel nearby, as I'm a vegetarian.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.
I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities
The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
