- Social interaction and communication skills of an individual increases to a great extent because we get to meet almost everyone frequently and we can make our work easy only by getting in touch with different faculties and heads of various background. The training and placement office which works day and night to train students from end of the first year itself is the main attraction it takes care that majority of a college students are placed or as taken as interns into their dream companies.
- The college is located in central area of Bangalore that is KR circle (civil and architecture located in Jnanabharati) the availability of Sir MV Central College metro station that is just next to college gate makes the travelling easy.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of some of the classes in the college and use of some old lab equipment is disappointing college building is in a stage of renovation, so we hope that it gets the best infrastructure with good facilities in the upcoming days.
- Girls hostel is located for whereas boys hostel is just next to the college steps are being taken to provide girls hostel nearby. If it is done the major issue will be resolved. Opening of the canteen would make students life better because students are always going to other places like PWD canteen or other canteens nearby to have their food and it consumes a lot of time and so most of them go starving to attend other classes.
Remarks :
Upon a great person's suggestion, I did some research and was very happy to join this college. I chose UVCE among the other top colleges such as RVCE, BMSE, MSRIT and PES due UVCE is one among the top five colleges and it's college fees is really very student friendly. Our college has a legacy of more than 100 years, and it has so many alumni's who are still a supporting hand for our college. Admission to our college is only through KCET. Diploma students can join in the second year through DCET examination. Our college is now autonomous and is in the process of becoming an IT model so it doesn't follow any VTU or BU syllabus and schemes, hence there would be no problem in delay of exams or sudden postponements. Cut off in our college varies every year and with respect to different branches but an average it is around 4 to 5K for CSE departments.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties available in the college are highly experienced and knowledgeable. We learn to be independent in all aspects of life and the way they teach is appreciable. Our college at present follows national education policy (NEP) which has given a very student friendly and beneficial syllabus. Our college conducts 2 internals every semester and the final marks is awarded based on our internals as well as externals, so being academically strong is a requirement to be there in our college. Externals is conducted for 100 marks which will be later reduced to 50 marks to calculate the final score. cgpa and sgpa are awarded on the scale of 10 credit points. Every core and main subject carry three credit points. Extracurricular activities and certificates gained by a student through organization, volunteering or projects will also gain credit points by the end of engineering.
Internships Opportunities :
Placements and internship opportunities are high in our college with around 115 companies visiting our campus. The highest package in our college is 57 LPA. Top recruiters in UVCE includes companies like Oracle, Toyota, IBM, Bosch, Adobe, linkedIn, Volvo, Huawei, Amazon, SAP labs, Microsoft, Cape Gemini etc.. Different types of roles are offered by the companies and it's up to the student to select which role they want and can give the interview based on that. A student will have to be good in terms of skill sets, aptitude and communication. Most important is how well they pass the rounds. Based on these factors a student gets internships and placements.
Placement Experience :
Our college has training and placement office abbreviated as TPO which runs on a different scale and with different timings in UVCE. Our college is known for its placement. Tpo office works from morning 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM irrespective of any holidays and events. Students are given training with internships from the end of first year itself. Internships include training of communication, aptitude learnings followed by career building and interview handling. More number of companies visit our college that includes top companies like Microsoft, SAP, Amazon, Cape Gemini, etc.. Every year the number of students getting placed is increasing and 89% of students have been placed in the recent year. Remaining students were basically the ones who started their own startups and jobs rather than sitting for placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College undertakes admission only based on merit seats and no management seats are available. The yearly fees reach around 45K to 50K & there is no separate management fees asked. The amount decided by KEA is final and it may decrease by 1K or 2K every year. Fees for category students belonging to SC and ST can pay only ?800 other minor categories can pay 20K at the beginning of every year but by the end of the year they will also have to pay the full amount. Amount Required to be paid other than admission fees include: exam fee for every semester that ranges around 1.5 K, hostel fees (if opted) ranges around 13 K every semester, blue books, records, manual and notebook charges are to be put on our own. Students can avail scholarships such as SSP, NSP and private scholarships.
Campus Life :
The campus life and college will serve lots of memories and handful of experiences. There are more than 12 cultural clubs and around 6 technical clubs present in our college and every club is run by students themselves with the main faculty heading it. Technical clubs include IEEE, GDG, marvel, 180° consultants, Ecell and praveg. Other clubs that are for networking include TEDx, Vachana (for red talks) and UVCE chronicles. There is a student executive body (Seb) that is an office to take care of well-being of UVCEians and to globalize our college on a large scale with its development. Our college celebrates around 2 to 4 fests every year. This includes impetus and Kagada which are the most famous national level tech fest and will have lots of technical competitions held both online and offline. Fiesta and Milagro are the cultural fests of our college that provides a vibrant celebration along with DJ nights and various competitions and performances from students and clubs.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

Eligibility for the placements is 7+ cgpa if you have higher cgpa higher the chances of you getting shortlisted for the interview and it will be easy for you Recuriters visited Cisco,Visa,Emerson,NetApp and many more for the internships and full time Highest package is 56 LPA and average package will be around 10 LPA for the computer science and Engineering for other branches it may vary
