- College campus is huge you get a good environment as this place is far from town area.
Dislikes
- Only placements are less so as compared to IITs this college is getting less package.
- Some are less experience in teaching but they show as if they know everything.
Remarks :
The faculties are highly qualified and some of them are from IITs and have done their Phd from foreign colleges Also the campus is huge the only negative is campus recruitment are very less as compared with other colleges. For admission you must give entrance exam conducted by the college itself and cutoff is around 50 out of 100 and you will be selected automatically if you are Gate qualified. For preparation I have studied Hydrology book by S Subramanium and have given online mock test for Gate.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This college is nearest to my home town and the fees are also cheap as compared with other colleges. As mentioned earlier they are highly qualified. Mid terms and End terms are conducted in one sem and it is not too difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
I did one year internship on Building and bridges design and I tool the role of junior trainee and I learn many things how a foundation is done and I did another one year internship on River banks protection in Gaurang River.
Placement Experience :
You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is arount 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year. I will be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
for year wise the fees is around 23000 for academic fees for Sc, St and around 36000 for others. For hostel fees around 6000 per sem. For Mess fees around 6600 per sem. For scholarship you get 78000 per year for Sc, ST which is provided by the Assam govt and 12400 per sem for Gate qualified students.
Campus Life :
Ecstasy and Techcracy are two main events held every year. More than lakhs of books are available in here. Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket are the main events held here. Robotics, Spic Machay, NSS groups are runned by the students.
Hostel Facilities :
Food quality is not up to the mark as they are providing mess in less price. Hostels are provided to everyone who wants to stay as they can accommodate around 5000 students. Kokrajhar town is near to the campus and Tinali Bazar is near for shopping purposes.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
