Likes
- I really like the campus and environment of our college there is enough greenery and a very calm enviroment.
- The infrastructure is also great with good facilities and smart classes
- The faculty is also very kind and supportive and they try to help the students.
- Darrang College is the cultural hub and the fests here are just amazing
Dislikes
- One of the problem I faced is classes being far away from each other we have to walk around 200 m to go another class which makes our entry late in that class
- The college focuses too much on culture and not much modern fests are held.
Remarks :
I chose this college because of its good and clean environment,the infrastructure and the good teaching staffs. No, exams or tests were not held during admissions it was based on merit. If you have good percentage, admission will be a piece of cake as the staff here is very supportive.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The History Syllabus is quite good and systematic we learned about ancient humans in 1st sem and its continuing in a systematic manner. i chose history because of my passion for understanding the past and how it shapes the present. The subject not only provides insights into human civilization but also hones critical thinking and research skills, which are valuable in any field. The faculty is well qualified and various methods like field trips,smart classes are used. There are two sessional exams held and one end semester examination with difficulty level being quite good and easy.
Internships Opportunities :
My friends from commerce department were offered paid internship where they were paid 3000 for working 60 days in pantaloons where they were taught various details about how to manage a shopping complex etc.
Placement Experience :
Currently placements are not offered but the courses have various job opportunities like civil servant, archaeologist ,librarian etc and HOD discussed with us that very soon placements will be available in the college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
So year wise I pay 7500 in odd semesters.First i paid in 1st semester and then in 3rd semester. In even semester a minimal fee of 400 is taken as examination fee and before every exam form fill up is held where we need around 1500 rupees
Campus Life :
The biggest fest in darrang college is the General Freshers which is generally held in September or October. Talking about the library and books most of the books are there in library and we can go and take them. Sports are also held during college week. Yes various student work for social political groups like ABVP AASU etc.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
