First talking about the admission process, for student not belonging to Karnataka have to write an exam called comedk and through the counselling process you would get the college, My main factors for choosing this college was better placements when compared to other colleges, also it is situated in main Bengaluru which made it easier for further internship opportunities as well as exposure in the industry, Student who has completed there 10 + 2 in Karnataka can write both the exams kcet and comedk, it follows this same process of counselling through which the college gets allotted to the students, only differences almost half of the seats are reserved for kcet students and their fees are comparatively less (I guess 1 lakh per year for the college fee)
Talking about my course electronics and telecommunication, I would say our faculties are actually very knowledgeable and experienced almost 20 + year experience, I choose the scores because I already had a keen interest in electronics, teaching methods are very standard, using chalk and duster, ppts, our labs are well equipped Exams are held almost once every month, We have two internals and a final exam While the internals are fairly on the easier side, the finance might be tricky ranging from mid to tough.
Student do get internship and their second and third year, teachers are actually helpful guiding us through different ways and skills we need to have for the internships but is student has to put effort from the roadside approaching companies or starterups to get the internships. The actual data is not revealed by the college as how many students have completed their intership.
Hindi retrospect of comparing the placements with other colleges, replacements of Ramaiah is good, many core as well as IT companies do come for placements, almost all the company eligibility criteria very from 6.5 to 8 CGPA The highest package this year was 52 lakh from Microsoft (offcampus) and the average sallery lies arround 8 to 11 lpa depending on the branch. Almost 40-60% of the students get placed, but the actual numbers are not revealed by the college.
The details fee structure For the first year, our fee was 292000 Which includes: 232000 for the tution fee,30000 for other miscellaneous fees, and,For the first year, it's mandatory for everyone to enroll in an intra college internship costing 32000 which makes up the total to 292000 for the first year For the second year, the fee was inflated a bit,so it was 272000(without any internship fee) When it comes to hostel, there are 4 boys hostel of the college, and many girls hostel of the adjacent medical blocks, Hostel, either of college,or nearby private one, costs between 80k to 2 lakh depending on no of students per room, food quality, and luxury. So for a year, the total fee is around 4lakh to 4.3 lakhs
The campus area of our college is not big, even when included the sister colleges of Ramaiah, the medical colleges, The social life is okayish, you will find a food crowd here, make good friends, people are very chill and you won't face any sort of discrimination being from other part of the country. There are many clubs though most of them are inactive throughout the year, and don't add up any extra skills to you But the student network is very strong, there are several websites made by students of higher years for the juniors helping them with notes previous exam papers and question banks, such as "RIT Notebook",or you will find first year entire material for each branch on the reddit page of the college.
There are 4 boys hostel of the college Fresher's block: only available for the freshers, first come first served basis, fee is around 1 lakh, and you have to vacate it after the first year Other hostels are Aryabhatta,PG Hostels, and Ratan Tata Block If a freshers couldn't get a room in freshers block, he can take in Aryabhatta PG block or Ratan Tata block. Fee of Aryabhatta block varies from 72k,84k or 1.5 lakh depending on single or double sharing, and each floor has different sized rooms, Ratan Tata block room cost: 1.2 lakh for double sharing and 1.7lakh for single sharing, but the rooms are very huge. Pg hostel room costs around 1lakh or a bit more depending on 3,2 or single sharing All these hostels have a common mess in Aryabhatta block, food is hygienic, but very monotonous. Surrounding are various South and North Indian restaurants that don't cost much. Apart from these there are various PGs and hostels for girls and boys, and the fee is around 1 to 2 lakh depending on occupancy.
