Remarks :
There was an entrance exam named CET ( common entrance test ) which got me into the university The test syllabus was physics, chemistry and biology and more questions were asked from the biology part There were a total of 3 counsellings , I got in the 3rd round
Course Curriculum Overview :
I genuinely enjoy my subjects in my course which is Bachelor's in Community sciences There are a total of 5 departments in it Family Resource Management and Consumer Sciences Food science and Nutrition Textile science and Fabric care Extension education and Communication Management Human Development and Family Studies I personally love the Family Resource Management and Consumer Sciences since it includes Designing , like Interior design Product design, Event Management
Internships Opportunities :
Not yet but do send the 3rd and 4th year students for internship , I do not have an internship experience yet but my seniors do According to them the experience is great and provides them with professional skills
Placement Experience :
There are good placement opportunities after completing the graduation, many different companies come to the campus to recruit students, usually the top scorers can easily get through the interviews and get a placement
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Admission fees was 25k , hostel fees for 1st sem was 11k and message fees for hostel is 1800 per month +extra trip fees and book material stationary fees Scholarships will be provided from next semester if we are able to be in top 10 students or scorers in the class Gymnasium fees is 300 per month
Campus Life :
The campus is huge and full of greenery, there are a lot of things to explore like there are many ponds and lakes , there are three eateries inside the campus One is named Varsity, a small kiosk One is Vanadium, a cafe One is the Canteen Above the canteen there is indoor sports stadium We have football court , basketball court and volleyball court too We also have a Gymnasium We have a lot of chilling spots We have Orchards , Bridges , A small tea garden too and an eco tourism area where people can do boating.we can cycle the whole campus
Hostel Facilities :
There are a lot of hostels inside the campus, I took hostel 14 , the infrastructure is great of my hostel and it feels homely , the message is good too with appropriate food items, usually the hostel is clean , has a wifi connection and overall it's great

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
