Review of Patkar Varde College for BA Psychology pursuers

- campus is spacious. faculty is excellent for self financed course.
- provides a lot of interesting workshops from different courses.
Dislikes
- hygiene. could do much better with the toilets
- timings are not fixed. we are informed of lectures 1 day prior. no real time table is followed.
Remarks :
Patkar college provided BA psychology for outsider students in 3rd year which is not something many colleges were providing. Admission was based on fy and ty marks, no entrance exam involved. Good aspect is that the course is self financed which means that the faculty is great. there were no groip discussions, interviews or written tests. the admission process was straightforward.
Course Curriculum Overview :
course curriculum is excellent. it provides insight on many branches of psychology including sports and forensic. faculty was also much better than i expected, definitely a 10. exams were timely, difficulty level was moderate.
Internships Opportunities :
a very fun internship where i volunteered to help children speak English fluently under Vidya NGO, thrice a week for 3 hours per day. I was tasked with looking over the students and engaging in conversation in English. sometimes tasked with preparing teaching materials as well.
Placement Experience :
no placements for my course. employability gets promising after PG. for clinical psychology, you will be assigned hospitals after MA. Placement opportunities in psychology depend on the institution and specialization. Some programs lack formal placements, requiring students to enhance employability through internships, certifications, and networking. Many pursue higher education for advanced roles in clinical or organizational psychology. Others explore private practice, NGOs, or entry-level jobs to gain practical experience.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
since it is a self-financed course, it is 23,000 yearly in total, including tuition fee, registration and admission fee. this applies for all students, regardless of category. aided courses are much cheaper.
Campus Life :
it is quite a happening campus but i am personally not involved since i live far away. there are regular sessions, seminars and workshops from different courses. i am involved in the psychology fest called Psymphony. it is pretty fun!

Placement Experience :
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track

no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Average college provide average facilities

Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.

Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .

Placement Experience :
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.

engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.

there are lots of mnc company visted college every year, most of companies have there eligiblity criteria is 60% and above overall from 10th, the biggest tech companies like tcs, wipro, accenture, deloitte, infosys, the average package is around 3lpa, every year 50 to 70% students getting placed.

The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
