- There many things which I like in NITk. if we talking about infrastructure then it is spread into around 350 accer which is very large and there is a beach if u feel lonely or something like that then u can go to beach and spending some time in the peace of beach so you get more comfortable and there is an international swimming innovated by 2024 . Which is interesting things.and too many sports are there in which many sports I played first time in my life like table tennis,8 ball pool, basketball, volleyball etc that maintain a better physical health. There is gym also if u want to make a muscular body then u can go there is a trainer also ...
- Campus Life is too good and the best thing is u can se a very large diversity inside the campus students means it is a national institute so many states students are there like Karnataka,telangana , Tamilnadu, Andhrapradesh, Bihar, Gujrat, Maharashtra etc approx all types of people u can meet and the basic mode of communication is English because all students doesn't know hindi neither u know all type of language so it will helpfull for improving your personality development. If we talking about faculty then I already mentioned that they are too supportive and one of the physics faculty is my favourite because he going to in-depth of topic like quantum mechanics, special theory of relativity, etc many students hated because of that also... By the way overall faculty are good enough...
Dislikes
- There is no such thing that u completely dislike in the college infrastructure but if u talking about environment then yeah here is no cold.. Currently january is going on but the average temperature was 30°Celcius and approx whole year There rainy day atleast 5 day's of month in cold and around daily in August,September.
- Other things which not I deslike actually but it may create a issue if a student is not fluent in English then his communication to the faculty is too difficult and if there is any issue with him like any certificate or anything then he have to going to main building and in Main building u have to communicate in English with all the staff which may lead to an issue with the person who is not knowing good enough in English.. But I saw these things as an opportunity to learning and making my spoken too fluent in English because there is no such places in Bihar or north side where English is used as a basic language of communication and if u are going to do job in any company or going to give interview in any company then u have to face all types of questions in English so improving my skills this time is far better than that time after rejection...
Remarks :
Anyone who joined to nitk have to crack jee mains with a good rank as it is 2nd rank nit so cutoff is going to very low mean competition is high my jee mains crl was 34000 so I get admission into it in mining branch.there is many things which u love in this college like it has a private beach, swimming pool,too large ground many court like volleyball court, basketball court,4 badminton net etc . But the thing u don't love is there is a huge difference in the rank between home state students and other states students because this college provide 50% home state quota.so my percentile was 98 and one of my friend who is from Karnataka his percentile was 95 but we both get same branch which is disappointed me some time initially but after some time in the college u realise only come in the college is not big deal u have to maintain ur capability as before coming to college. I am a dropper so I follow online course available on utube in free like Abj sir on mohit tyagi channel etc....
Course Curriculum Overview :
I actually chose NITk surathkal not mining. I am interested in tech field but I didn't get cse in tier 1 or 2 college and I don't want to go to tier 3 college so I prefer college over branch not blindly I searched many things factors and talking to many friends who are in college then I prefer top college lower branch rather than lower college top branch. Faculty of NITk is too much supportive and well qualified one of our faculty done her PhD from Isc banglore and other from IIT Bombay, and one is from nitk itself. All professors are well educated and humble obviously some time getting angry because of some silly things but overall supporting nature are there in professors . We have an app provided by NITk management and there is an academic calendar and all the exam date mentioned on that calendar and all are helded timely except some quizzes. If we talking about difficulty level then nitk math's paper is famous in whole nits on the basis of toughness and other subjects difficulty..
Internships Opportunities :
Nitk is also famous for there PPO (pre placement offer) .one of our 3rd yr senior getting 1lakh stipend at amazon for one month internship ship This yr and many other examples are also there in which many students getting internship with such a high stipend and after that they may get PPO letter famous company like microsoft, amazon, Adobe providing internship of our college students..
Placement Experience :
For seating in placement students must have CGPA greater than 7.5 otherwise he is no eligible for placement. Many famous company like Amazon, Google, flipkart, adobe, microsoft, bank of america, hdfc ,kotak , mahindra, bajaj india etc are visiting our college. As we all know banglore is in Karnataka and it is called tech hub and nitk is one of the top college in Karnataka so all tech companies are visiting our campus. Highest and average package is different for different branches like this year highest package is given to a student from ece of 54 lpa and avg package of cse is 28 lpa while highest package of mining is 30 lpa and avg package of mining is 12 lpa so it will differ with branch. And also percentage of students in different branches is different like it department has 99 % placement of how many registered.and cse has 98 % while mining has 90% and metallurgy has 89% And if we talk about overall percentage then around 80 to 90 % students got placed of how many registered.....
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee for 1 yr without any quota is around 2lakh 40thousand . But the thing is there is many scholarship in our college based on different criteria. Like if ur family annual income is less than 1lakh than u get 100% remission in tution fee which is 62500 for 1 semester if ur annual family income is between 1 to 5 lakh then u get 2/3 rd of fee remission of ur tution fee. Othe criteria was if u are from sc,st or pwd candidate then u don't need to pay any tution fee and also u have many other fee waiver are there. For obc students of income less than 1lakh will have to pay whole fee of 1st sem means 1.3 lakh and after between the course u have to submit ur income certificate and if it is valid then u get 62500 back in ur account at the end of yr. Tution fee -62500 Caution fee- 6390 Addmission fee- 1280 Development fee-2560 Student activities fee- 6300 Health care facility -1580 Computing resources fee-3360 Library fee-2560 There are too many other fee also...
Campus Life :
There are two annual fest in NITk one is engi, and other is incident both are famous and very exciting. Engi is helded in November and incident is in Feb or march. Many activities are occured during fest and 1st year students can also participate in that fests activities.like drama is there,dance is there, music competition is there , fashion show is there , robo war is there , and drone racing ,stage show many other activities are there which is filled with full of fun . Our library infrastructure is too good and size is too large around 1 lakh 26 thousand books are there and we don't purchase any course book we can directly avail that from library. For 1st yr student there are a special building called 'cids' situated in NITk in which all 1st year students class will be helded and building infrastructure is good it is a four floor building in which 16 class rooms are there . As I already mentioned that we have gym , swimming pool, volleyball court, basketball court, badminton court .
Hostel Facilities :
There are 4 hostel for 1st yr boys and 2 for 1st yr girls.For boys There are two types of room available one is double sharing and other is triple sharing both have same price no difference. Aravali, Karavali, Vindhya are triple sharing and sahyadri is double sharing. And also there are two types of mess on is vegitarian other is non vegetarian Food is too Good u can survive by taking that yeah in starting if u from north side then u may have some issues to adjusting but it will okk after some time because south food are different they give idli , dosa , rasam ,sambhar etc in breakfast which is not taking by north people's. For registration to hostel and mess they(management )provide link to pay the fee and register for room and mess. For 1 st semester when u r coming 1st time then u have to paying all the fee without knowing about hostel and mess then they will give u a date for reporting time and at the day of reporting time they asked to u about hostel and mess which would u want.

The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
