I am from Nagpur and VNIT is in my hometown was the basic reason to choose VNIT. Admission process is through JOSAA by our JEE MAINS score. I scored 98.32%tile and got admitted at VNIT in Mechanical Engineering branch. Another reason for choosing this college was because this college is established around 1960 so is a very old college and this college is also very known for mechanical engineering. I just wanted a UG degree as my further aim is different. The college is more of academic and placements focused so if you study well you can be assured of a placement from the college itself. The mess food isn't that good but just eatable that's what I don't like about the college
The faculties here are Phdians and have almost 10 years+ experience and the seniors profs are almost 30-35+ years of experience. About the teaching some profs teach really good some teach average some teach really bad. The exams are conducted twice per semester first is the midsem and then the endsem. The midsem is of 30 marks and endsem is of 50 marks and 20 marks are of internal which makes up 100. Since I am in first year I had CP,EE,CHEM, MATHS 1,SS in sem 1 and in sem 2 I have PHY,CS,EM,ED. Every subject is taught well some are easy to understand and some are hard
Since I am a first year student so I donot have any internship but in our college there is a student mentorship program so there is a mentor for 15 students who take care and has a watch on all the proceeding of that 15 students so my mentor had a internship at ISRO in summer term so he had a great experience over there.
The college is purely placement focused hence you can expect a good package from the college if u are average or good at studies. Highest package 64 lpa lowest 6 lpa median 12 lpa average 11 lpa. In 2024 mechanical got 100% placement and till 2025 jan 50% of mech students are placed and still placement drive is going on. Almost all Mnc visit the college to hire students.

The college life is going really fantastic There are various events conducted such as AXIS AAROHI CONSORTIUM institute gathering DEPARTMENT GATHERING and many other events. There is a library where a student has access to all books present. The sports facilities are also really great. I personally play badminton so there are international mats placed to play. Total of 6 courts are there indoor. Also for other sports it has great facilities such as TT has 2 rooms alloted for lawn tennis 2 courts also same for basketball diff ground for cricket and football and handball a place to play kabaddi kho kho volleyball etc. there are various clubs in the college such as SAMVAD OCTAVES HALLABOL IV LABS VELOCITY etc. each of one with different purposes such as I am a part of samvad club which is the debating club of the college octaves is musical club HALLABOL is acting and street play etc club
The hostel rooms are quite good. There are double and triple sharing rooms. Hostel Life is really fun. But the issue comes with the mess Food there are 2 mess for boys. One mess provides good food in other the taste is not that good and even the quality is not upto the marks. Else the fees of hostel is relevant and affordable.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.
