My experience at PEC
Remarks :
I had filled this college as one of the several options in JoSAA and CSAB. So this was the best combination of college and branch that I could get for my JEE Main rank. I had appeared for all four attempts of JEE Main in 2021 and my best percentile decided my rank which further facilitated me in choice filling at JoSAA counselling and CSAB counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because I used to be enthusiastic about doing mechanical engineering. Most of the new faculties at my college are IIT alumni and they prefer teaching through PPT slides rather than writing each and every point of the topics. We used to have 2 exams every semester, one is mid-term at the completion of half syllabus and other exam is end-term at the completion of full syllabus. Apart from the major examinations, we also have frequent assignments, projects, quizzes, viva.
Internships Opportunities :
I was first assigned an on-campus internship at Academor, an ed-tech startup with the role of Sales Executive. I had applied for an off campus internship at CPWD for the role of operations engineer. I had to supervise the work going at treatment plants.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for placement is that student should not be having backlogs in any subject from the preceding semesters. Few notable recruiters were JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, American Express, arcesium, NatWest, TATA, Maruti and some of them even recruited dozens of students. Highest package offered was around 80 lpa by atlassian for the role of Software developer. On average more than 90% of students get placed. My plans after getting the degree is to land a decent job as a Data analyst and later prepare for gate or UPSC.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In case of no scholarship, student needs to pay rupees 86,000 per semester. When 50% scholarship for students with less than 8 lakh rupees family income per year, student is obliged to pay 46,000 in one semester and 86, 000 in another. In case of 100 % scholarship, student is obliged to pay 6,000 for one semester and 86,000 for another. SC and ST category students pay 6,000 for one semester and 86,000 for other semester every year. BPL students are required to pay 6,000 each semester.
Campus Life :
Our annual college fest, called as PECfest, is a 3 day event held every year usually in the month of November. Our library consists of reference books for various subjects for all the departments. Apart from those, our library also has encyclopedia, novels, catalogues, daily newspapers in languages like English, Hindi and Punjabi. Sports like cricket, football, Table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis, volleyball, and extracurricular activities like drama, dance performances, musical presentations, NCC parade, debates and discussions by SAASC club are organised regularly. Social services are often encouraged by NSS club managed by students themselves.
Hostel Facilities :
Food quality of mess is great and menu contains of diverse meals. Students who choose to take rooms at hostel are required to present their documents to the respective hostel attendants and pay the yearly hostel fee.

College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year

I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.

Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs

placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil

The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro,hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.

There is minimum 4 months of internship we have to do in 6th semester and on campus opportunities is very good. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, BMW, jp Morgan, AMEX came with highest package of 86 LPA

Course Curriculum Overview :
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.

The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
