Sophia college: enter at your own risk
Likes
- The college is an old colonial building which was a palace but was then acquired by French missionaries to provide education to women. So yup it’s pretty old, the bathrooms are a bit of a problem and you cannot charge your phones in the college which is very funny.
Dislikes
- Bad washrooms. Unhygienic and they smell.
- No place to charge electronics. It’s weird funny and outrageous at the same time.
- Very hot in summers. Fans barely work and no AC.
- Not any good water filters. It’s tap water legit.
Remarks :
I had a chat with the vice principal and that convinced me and my father. The rankings are well and the faculty also looked promising. The campus was an add on for sure since it’s very beautiful and it’s hard to find a legit campus in mumbai.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is very much school like. A lot has changed since NEP and I’m a non nep kid but still you have to be consistent. Teachers won’t recognise you until you are regular or do very good, also they are very busy since they are also lecturing at other colleges so not much time to give outside of lectures
Internships Opportunities :
No. I tried applying for internships but it didn’t pan out for me. As i said a lot of factors are involved and they filter out candidates without any interviews which is kind of a bummer honestly. I’m good at work but never have i gotten internships from placemat cell.
Placement Experience :
The placement cell of sophia is a student run placement cell. The hirings are very much dependent on your marks and grades. Good companies do come in but not all of them hire. Again the hiring process is very much biased towards academic achievers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The feed is 7000 inr for BA and it does increase but not much significantly. There aren’t any scholarships available as such. Yes you are expected to pay miscellaneous fees but that is once in a while and not much.
Campus Life :
Life at campus is good. A lot of good clubs but again you have to be consistent. Also the events can be dull sometimes but some of them like the annual fest are very cool. Kaleidoscope is the annual fest that has celebrities coming in and is very happening indeed.
Hostel Facilities :
I haven’t opted but the food is good. I live in a pg in Santacruz which is quite far from the college but the college is in a very boring area hence the plan to live in Bandra. But yes i would suggest living near college if you love being attentive.

It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.
The Time I Had Spent in my College

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. Internship was also provided by college to give students practical experience and knowledge about current changing environment.

Course Curriculum Overview :
i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate
SNDT,MA Psychology
Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.
CSD at KKWIEER: A perfect blend of tech and creativity

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
Reality of niat
Placement Experience :
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.
