An underrated gem-Dyal Singh College
Likes
- The thing I like the most is the facilities provided by the college like our amphitheatre that isn't available in many colleges,football field and basketball court. Secondly I'd say is the quality of faculty. The faculty especially of my course is like super experienced and cooperative.
- Also, the canteen is really good. The food is subsidized and we can eat at a really good price. The societies we have are very active and they organise events regularly.
Dislikes
- The main thing that I think the college administration can improve is the infrastructure. We don't have ACs. It is a bit concerning because the rooms get really hot on summers and the fans are not enough.
- Secondly we our college doesn't organise fests on a large scale like other colleges. I think the college should spend on organising bigger fests that gather a larger footfall.
Remarks :
The main reason was the course that was offered to me. Economics honors is the creme course of DU and the curriculum is the same followed by the London School of Economics. Another factor was the fee which is really less compared to what you pay to private colleges. We had to give an entrance exam called "CUET" however we there weren't any interviews or GDs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course that I'm persuing is like the best that one can get if he wants to get into the field of economics. So I'd rate the course a 10. The. Curriculum is the same that is followed by top Economics Schools abroad (LSE, Harvard) so the curriculum is also a 10. The faculty that is teaching us are also graduates of Delhi School Of Economics and they're like super experienced so I'd rate them a 9.
Placement Experience :
Our college provided campus placements the the placement record of our college is quite decent. The average salary one can expect after doing economic honors is around 6-7lpa which is quite good for an undergraduate degree from du.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The per year fee of economics honors from dyal singh college (DU) is 14,800 rupees. It isn't increasing every year but it has some changes in every few years. No scholarship is provided to students as the annual fee is very low itself.
Campus Life :
Our campus is like really big compared to other Colleges of Delhi University. We have a NCC ground, a football field, a basketball court. We also have physics and chemistry labs however one drawback I would say is the lack of ACs in classrooms.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.
