When I first applied in DU, political science was my first preference in the list but I got English honours in Miranda house instead. The cut off was so high this year for all the subjects. The highest cutoff for english honours was 770. To take admission in Delhi University each student have to give CUET exam. And to get addmission in North campus colleges above 750+ is a safe score for General category and for SC quota I scored 643 in CUET in exam. The addmission process is easy we will be given the allotted seat according to our preference list by DU. If the student wants to take admission in that course they will submit the fees and their seat is confirmed and if they want to look for another college they can upgrade the list and wait for 2,3 allocation rounds. No I didn't face any discussions or interviews for admission. Only CUET exam was in written mode this year (2024). For SC and ST the seats are reserved for them.
I decided to pursue Eng Hons in Miranda house because of its academic excellence and vibrant culture. Miranda house is girls college as we know and it's perfect place to grow for opportunities, character development and internships. The faculty members are really kind and helpful. The professors are not just knowledgeable but also passionate about English, and it shows in the way they teach. They give us extra knowledge and extra readings to understand our topic fully. Notes are provided and they also takes tutorials for each subjects. Presentations and tests are part of our Internal Assessments (IA) marks, so we stay actively involved in learning. We have to give exams after every semester, there are 2 semesters in 1 year. 1 semester exams was in january and 2 semester exams will be held in June. We have to give 3 core subjects written exams and additional subjects exam. Exams are not that much difficult, many questions are repeated from PYQs.
There are many groups and Instragram pages where interships are provided to students. There's a placement cell of Miranda house where all the placement details come and students fill the form according to the category.
My course is BA english honours and for that I had paid ?15,460 during addmission. It includes all tution fees and all. The fees differ by category, SC ,ST pays less fees than General category. Examination fees we have to pay before every semester's exam.
Tempest is the Miranda house fest conducted in the month of April. It's only open to Miranda girls only. The campus life of Miranda house is really exciting everyday. There are many programs and department fests conducted every week - seminars , competitions , diwali festival, garba night and etc. The library of Miranda house is one of the best library in delhi University. And basketball court and tennis court are also there. Sports department offers many subjects to choose between them. For extracurricular activities there is a separate room - student activity centre (SAC) and heritage hall. There are 25+ clubs and societies in our college and the best part is that any student can join as much societies as they want. There are many websites and pages on social media of each societies run by students.
I don't live in hostel. But the hostel of Miranda house is in the campus and the infrastructure is really beautiful from outside as well as inside. It provides a safe, comfortable, and lively environment for students coming from different parts of the country and even abroad. Each room is well furnished with beds, study table, chairs, wardrobe, watercoolers and etc. A common mess where students eat their food. The mess food is average. Library accesss for quite study sessions. The mess serves food three times a day and vegetarian and non-vegetarian both options are available. Curfew time is 9pm for students. Not everyone got hostel rooms so many students are living in pg nearby the campus. Nearest PG's are in vijay nagar, kamla nagar, Hudson lane. They are all at 10 min walking distance from the college. And the rents differ according to the place - 9k - 15k max to max. Fully furnished and double pr triple bed are available.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.
The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
