Admission into NLSIU can only be availed through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). NLSIU has 300 seats, a specific percentage of which are reserved. Caste-based reservation is vertical, and gender-based reservation is horizontal (reservation within reservation). I chose NLSIU as it is the number 1 law college in India. It was also far from my hometown, providing exposure. Bengaluru is also famous for its great weather. I joined LegalEdge in 2022 to prepare for CLAT 2024 and ace it. NLSIU is the best law college in India. The only bad aspect is that it has a heavily academic atmosphere. It's a gathering for scholarly minds.
The course curriculum, academics, and the faculty are all top notch. NLSIU is number 1 in terms of anything academics-related. I chose this course as it's the only one available for undergraduates in NLSIU, and I wanted to be admitted into NLSIU. The exams and assessments are based on a Continuous Evaluation principle. So they are spread over the duration of the trimester. Speaking of, NLSIU has a trimester system, which contributes heavily to its academic and scholarly atmosphere. End of the trimester exams take place for almost all courses in B.A. LL.B (Hons.) course. The internal assessments for each are specific to each course.
Valuable internship opportunities are provided by the Career Services department. I have interned at an NGO in Gorakhpur for my mandatory NGO internship as a 1st year student. The college provides many internship opportunities for students in the latter half of their degree.
I've low experience with the placement and job opportunities. Kids who work hard get placements. I intend to pursue UPSC, with placements as my backup. 1st year B.A. LL.B students are mandatorily required to get an NGO internship. The kids are also free to pursue any internships in their free time themselves. Career Services shares internship opportunities on the students college email IDs.
The yearly fees for NLSIU is 381500 rupees, subject to revision by the college. Additional one-time charges for admission exist. Tuition fees are 269000 rupees. Hostel residential charges are 45000 rupees. Mess charges are 67500 rupees. Charges for all castes are the same. There are different degrees of scholarships or financial aid available for students, strictly given out on the basis of economic necessity. It is only available for students' families below the income of 8 LPA. Financial aid is divided into different slabs, specifically S (Stipends), LI (Loan Interest Payments), T1 (25% Tuition Waiver), and so on. Information regarding NLSIU's financial aid policy can be found online.
Life at campus is good enough to maximize the returns from your academic interests. Everything in NLSIU that is invested into by the college itself is academics-oriented. Any other pursuits are law-focused, so any extracurriculars are sustained by different interest groups, mainly the students. There are multiple instagram groups made for NLSIU kids, with the primary ones being the official representatives of the NLSIU Administration, realnlsiuconfessions, etc. The NLSIU Fest is called Strawberry Fields.
The hostel mess is of good enough quality. The breakfast is relatively better. The lunch is usually mid. Dinner is usually good, but the extras are worth it (extra items that need to be paid for separately). The mess is worth its cost. Registration process is included within the admission process. Most students get hostel rooms. The locality is Naagarabhaavi, in which NLSIU is located, in case hostel rooms are allocated.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
