I gave JEE Mains followed by JEE Advanced and for this, based on your rank you get a college based on your preferential ranking. The system is called Josaa counselling which happens post jee adv ranks are out.
Well I chose this course because that is what I got with this rank, but post my first year when we started the real chemical engineering, I started liking the fundamentals and complexity of this discipline. To add on to this, the faculty of my department are really helpful and if you seek for it, they will be more than happy to help you out with any issues you face.
There is a campus internship session post the 6th semester and placements post 7th semester, you join after completing your degree. There is a cost for the system, they call companies and organize the interviews.
The criteria for eligibility vary according to the different companies. Some have eligibility in terms of CGPA, rest go with the resume shortlisting and one to one interview method. For my branch, in non core the highest package goes upto 35 LPA.
Fees is generally steady, it comes out to about 1.5 Lakh per semester counting everything, tuition mess hostel. For category students it comes down to around 20k as for them the tution fees is exempted. There are various scholarships available too like means cum merit.
Its awesome i would say, there are more than enough things to keep you engaged, from hobby clubs to fests to activities to competitions to conclaves and talks. There are various student run bodies of which you can be an organizing member or be a participant and enjoy events.
The hostel is allocated by the institute and the lump sum fees is taken by the students in the semester fees. This involved hostel accommodation electricity water etc and mess fees. Staying at campus is necessary and thus you have to pay hostel fees and thus everybody is allocated a hostel room.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .

There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
