The factors that made me choose this college are area ,weather ,faculty ,infrastructure and college fests which it is famous for like innovision ,Cosmo and Vriddi ,there are many other fests here but these are the main and which are known. The good aspects are there are many holidays and grading sytem is not relative and there many extracurricular activities which can help enjoy college life.Yes I faced group discussions, about which I first felt nervous but when the time came they went on smoothly in which we discussed on ‘how to not worry about financial worries’,which was very nice experience for me.As it is in top 3 Nits it requires good score in JEE MAINS and somewhat relatively less score for reserved categories.
I chose Btech because it is very renown course and I was interested in electronics. The college was in top three nits and which was built over a large area which would provide a nice environment. The faculty are good here they can reached any time you want and they are ready to clear your doubts they even keep many extra sessions for concept and doubt clarification which are so useful if we have missed the first time. Here the exams pattern is there will be mid sem and end sem,two exams in every semester which nearly have two months of gap,I would rate the difficulty level around six or seven because the exams are mostly easy if the student listens to classes here.
No I did not get any internship as of now,There are many companies that offer internship opportunities in NITR like Barclays , Microsoft which are renown companies, and there are many other companies. The stipend varies based on the company. I think the range is starts from 30000 to 200000, which is very good. And the internship season starts for the students who completed their fourth semester in month of april.
Placement and Job opportunities are good in NIT Rourkela. The average package in our college is good. Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Texas, Bhel come for job interviews. The eligibility criteria varies between companies mostly if 7Cgpa is maintained then there is chance that he will sit for most companies whereas for some better companies the keep a cutoff of 8 Cgpa and also8.5 for some companies.
The total fees for a semester here are 100000 for all the sems other than the first sem which is 120000 in which 62,000 comes under tuition fee wheres other comes under maintenance and hostel and mess fee for each sem whereas in first sem some money are taken as deposit, there are many scholarships which can be availed by the students here if their income comes below 5lakh and many more if it is below 1lakh, like reliance, nsp, and fee reimbursement is there for reserved categories according to their income level. For reserved categories fee varies in the range of 40,000-60,000 per semester. There are merit scholarships also of which one is reliance foundation scholarship.
Life at campus is good and I rate it 9/10 because I like the environment here and my batchmates with whom I spend most of the time we enjoy a lot by playing games and doing things to timepass and attending fests ,Innovision fest takes place in November and Vriddi and Cosmo take place in January. There are many clubs in Nit rourkela,I think there are around 80 clubs. Clubs are being run by the students of which some renown clubs are Monday morning,Opencode,Aps and many more.Sports and extracurricular activities are good in our college the fest I mentioned Vriddi is a sports fest for which many local colleges of odisha come to take part, which goes on where interestingly and we can play whatever games we want in our free time and many sports equipment are provided by the hostels which is so good.
Hostel mess and hostel rooms are quite good but they can be better according to me because I feel like there’s lot to improve in these two cases as they are the main for a student.Food quality is good but I think where I come from has very different food structure so it is important for the management to be able make all the students satisfied by their food taste and varieties because people from all over the country come to the college for their studies so it would be more appropriate if it is can be able to satisfy the students.

After completion of this course go for national health mission recruitment In odisha opsc amo exam conducted many students were passed the exam from our college and got posted. You can go for many pharmacy company 100 percent of students getting placement
There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.
for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.
Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.
It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.
Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.
Eligibility criteria for placements are based on cgpa cut off and no backlogs are allowed. A few companies that came for recruitment are Infosys, Tcs , Accenture , Cognizant , Dell , Deloitte . Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .
The placement scenario is quite good as most of the students get placed before the completion of course with a decent package. Average package is around 8lpa and the highest package till now is 60+ lpa.
Course Curriculum is well structured ,in first year, evry branch subjects are mostly common and from second year onwards they taught branch specific subjects. Faculties are highly educated and they are also clear their engineering from best colleges
Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
