I chose this university because it's the main and only one in our city and all colleges are associated under it. The admission process is smooth yet bit lengthy in my opinion. Firstly there is an online registration for admission by filling a form and paying a fees for the common entrance exam. The exam contains a vast syllabus but is generic and aptitude based. It's preparation was easy and mostly required a good general knowledge, basic english, a bit advance math and ability to solve problems. After the result, there is a counselling session in batches. The students with higher ranks are called first increasing their chances to secure their desired seats. After that documents are collected by the faculty members of your desired course and you pay the admission fees along with few other charges as required.
The course curriculum is very relevant to the course. It includes all aspects of business fields and are taught according to grasping level and required insights per semester. I chose this course because I have a keen interest in business management. The faculty is also very experienced and knowledgeable with almost all teachers holding a Master, Doctorate or equivalent degree in their respected field. They don't only use theoretical knowledge but also the practical approaches to the topics for better understanding and also use projectors for teaching advance modern business models. The exams are held twice a semester known as Mid Semester Test and End Semester Test. They are moderately hard and are checked strictly. A minimum of 75% attendance is also required to get the hall ticket and roll number and sit in the exam.
The university has a mandatory summer internship program for students (typically for around 6 months) where students get experience and practical knowledge of their field. It also gives them an opportunity to get a pre placement offer. It is also included in the result of student which further helps them secure a placement during the interview drive.
The placements in the university are monitored by the placement cell. They ensure that there are relevant placement drives from companies in all departments. Students can take placements from 4th year or 7th semester, i.e, after graduation. The department is visited by companies in Banking and Finance, IT, FMCGs etc. Some local companies/firms also come to hire students and an On-campus recruitment opportunity is also provided to selected students. The highest package for MBA(Integrated course) is around ?8 LPA, whereas the average package is around ?3-?4 LPA. About 30-40% students achieve the placement through university while others can use their degree to get hired in companies offering job roles in management, marketing or HR
At the time of admission we are required to pay around ?86k-?90k which includes admission fees, tuition fees, examination fees, lab fees and some more charges. From the 2nd semester, the fees starts reducing to around ?60k. Though it does increases annually at a minimum of 3-8%. The university also provides fee waiver in form of reservations like PMS, merits and sibling discounts. MBA(Integrated course) at the GNDU is categorized under high fees courses but the university also have courses which are affordable at as low as ?7000 in distant learning courses.
The campus life at GNDU is really lively. There are a number of fests, seminars, competitions, events and workshops which happen throughout the year by various departments. The GNDU mainly hosts two fests, i.e, Jashan (around March-April) and Youth Fest (around October-November). These are attended by a large audience and has a large participation from colleges all around the city. Other than that the departments in the campus host Diwali fests or events related to their subjects/courses for everyone to gain knowledge and insights on it. Their is also a main library in the campus which has wi-fi 24/7, computers and a vast availability of books for students. The only downside is that students have to keep their bags and belongings in a common place and sometimes their stuff gets stolen. The sports facilities and faculties also very good at university. There is large playground, an Olympic size pool, gymnasium and other sports related facilities in the campus.
I have not opted for the hostel but to give an overview of it, the hostels are quite decent. Their are separate hostels for girls and boys with strict timing schedule. The hostel gates close at 9 p.m. and entry after that is granted by prior information or proper reasoning. The mess food is typically average but affordable and it's fees is paid as an extra charge apart from hostel fees. The rooms are available in sharing of 2 or 3 students and have cupboards for each one. The hostel fees can be typically around ?18k-?26k annually.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
