VMMC: The dream college
Likes
- The infrastructure of the New emergency block and the super speciality block is just amazing. It is beyond expectations from a government institute.
- In the hostel we get free electricity and that’s the best part i I guess. Free doesn’t mean we waste it but yes we use it freely!
Dislikes
- The disliking character is that out campus is a bit small according the patients it acquires.
- The mess food is not as good as one expects but one has to make some adjustments. everything can’t be just perfect!
Remarks :
To enter into this college, one needs to crack the NEET UG examination of which I think all of us would be aware. As VMMC is ranked as one the best colleges and Safdarjang Hospital is one the Asia’s largest OPD, getting admission here requires a very nice All India Rank in the NEET UG examination. For the general category the cut-off closes around 150 ranks for the All India quota and for the IPU quota, it goes to 3000 ranks. For the preparation of NEET UG, I prepared from Allen Kota
Course Curriculum Overview :
MBBS is quite a different piece of work from other college courses as it requires a bit more hard work and meticulousness. After attending classes and postings from 8 am to 4 pm, we are supposed to do self-study. The fees are not very large, it is around 40k annually and the rest 6k if you have chosen a hostel.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship is done after the completion of 4.5 years of MBBS. The internship takes place in the Safdarjang Hospital itself. The duties are different according to different departments. But sometimes it is so tiresome that one has a shift of straight 24hrs. A stipend of around? 30,000 is given monthly
Placement Experience :
There is no such word as ‘placement’ here. After completing our 4.5 years of MBBS, we are supposed to do an internship for 1 year in our Safdarjang hospital itself. For that, we get a stipend of around? 30,000 per month. After this, we have to take the NEET PG exam based on which we get a seat in post-graduation.
Campus Life :
Campus life is a sort of roller coaster, sometimes sweet, sometimes salty. To be very honest, people are not very good at any medical college. You need to survive on your own. Anyway, In VMMC we have our annual fest named NIRVANA that happens around August every year. Apart from studies we have several societies here like dance/music/street play/literature etc. We have a 24X7 open library also. Now coming to the hostel, we get a double sharing room and the rent of the hostel is 6k for the whole year. The electricity is free and we can get our AC/fridge/washing machines installed.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!

du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
