Remarks :
So i got admission in this college after i passed my boards exam in 2022. The course was 3 year duration and it was CBCS based not the 4 year course that was given by New Education Policy. But from 2023 the College shifted from CBCS to 4 Year FYUGP curriculum. So now if you belong from science stream and you wanna go for physics, Chemistry or maths then the college will be organizing an entrance test, it is not hard you can easily do it. But if you are choosing for humanities then it will be on purely merit basis. i personally study on 4th sem of political sci dept and the cutoff here was 92 percent as of 2023. The faculty is good honestly you can feel the competition of scoring good marks. There is also a misconception in assam that GU gives low marks but in reality you will get good marks if you study. my friends got 9.2 in 3rd sem. B Borroah college scored A++ in NAAC ranking which make your degree most valuable now. Our College have NSS and NCC as well. Try to score 90 percent.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was clear after 12 th i will choose political science as my hons subject . I was skeptical regarding faculty and environment of study because its not delhi. but after admission i got a really good faculty teachers, they also take us to field trip, and political assembly as well where we can see the real world of political environment to help understand better. the exams are relatively very easy such as mid term and final both.The good thing is fees is comparaatively low when i got admission i paid 6000 for 1st and 2nd sem but for 3rd and 4th sem the fees was 4000 it was 2000 rupees lower. and for students like remote areas this is minimal. i personally didn't got scholarship because i dont belong from EWS but other people get scholarship upto 60,000 per year and their admission fees also get waived off if your yearly income in below 2 lakh the name of the scholarship is ishan uday
Internships Opportunities :
i didnt git intership as of now and i didn't heard about it maybe science peeps may get those but humanities peeps don't get but you can try from other source apart from college for internship, but our project from dept help us to get deep because our project give use the emerging things that we can face in future and i think that helps a lott in shaping the clarity through projects
Placement Experience :
it depends upon the degree some wants to go for civil service. some to diff jobs so as of now no placement is offered but if you do NSS or NCC their certificate will help to get govt job for sure. and personally i have chose to go for civil services and for govt job after degree.
Campus Life :
life in campus is good, you will get a good vibe of friendly people. we have projector in our classroom and a a computer lab for computer course and i will say its not old skool. it is brand new desktop. classrom have been upgraded to better and tiles had been fitted. the cleanliness is what is taken care of and for girls we have girls common room same as boys and also we have gym to chill out. thats the best part. i didn't took hostel as i live in my own house so i dont have much knowledge about that

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
