- College infrastructure , Canteen, Society activities, North East Regional Research Centre, Annual fest
- Our labs are quite sufficient and functional with a supportive lab staff. So if students are really into basic science, MH will be a good choice.
Dislikes
- Lack of smart classes, drinking water problem, the schedule is too packed up and time for self study is comparatively less.
Remarks :
When I enrolled in my college Miranda House, it was pre covid period back then and so admissions were based on merit, and subsequently, lists were released. However, now if students want to be admitted to MH (or any other college of DU), they have to undergo CUET UG after 12th Boards and then register themselves in the respective university's admission portal and set the preference list of colleges. Later when the results of CUET are declared they need to upload the scorecard and then several rounds of counseling will be there wherein they can freeze the allotted college or sit for upgradation. For admission into physics department, students must be very very thorough with their +1 and + 2 physics and mathematics. Being a Student with a Physics background, I would say that there are a good number of research opportunities in our college as we have an in-campus Research Centre. Many students have also been abroad to places like Germany and Canada for their UG research.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Being a physics enthusiast, was the sole reason behind choosing my course. Exams are conducted on a semester basis. Our professors are very particular about attendance and internals. All our professors hold PhD degrees from renowned Universities in both India and abroad. Some are still excellent Research Scholars. The fees of our college are nominal in comparison and there are scholarships too for meritorious students.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done a research internship last summer under DSKC summer internship program of our college where students from not only DU but IISERs, NITs, and IITs across the nation participated. It was a wholesome experience to exchange ideas and opportunities for future research scientists. Every summer this program is organized and interested students form pure and applied Sciences and Geography can enroll into it.
Placement Experience :
Annual Placement and internship fare is organized in our college and interested students do sit for placement and get hired as well. Good companies come over and it's a one or two-day affair. As I was interested in higher studies so I didn't sit for placement and hence don't have further knowledge in this regard.
Campus Life :
Tempest is the name of our annual fest which is held every year in the month of March-April. Students plunge into the various activities and star night is the most awaited part of it. We have a central library on the college premises and physics department also has a departmental library. Annual sports activities are organised by the sports department every year for both students and teachers as well as non teaching staff. All the societies in our college are very active. Hostel facilities are available but there are grievances here and there.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!

du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
