Dislikes
- The quality of food in mess, mess fee is not proposed to the quality and quantity of food; the temperature over here which is extrem cold in winter and extreme hot in summer.
- There's no canteen in the campus except some eating areas which are quite good for lunch and snacks. The worst part over here is the distance between the main gate and campus, one has to walk for 15 mins. to reach from main gate to campus, still e-rickshaw facilty is here to avoid walking.
Remarks :
The Central University of Punjab offers an M.Sc. in Human Genetics which is relevant to my field as I had Genetics in my Bachelor's, hence I selected the University. I went through the University website where the infrastructure including the campus area, and lab facilities with well-furnished classrooms with AC and lab equipment. There was also a separate hostel facility for boys and girls inside, the fee structure is very reasonable and the faculty members are highly qualified with years of teaching experience. The placement cell is also active and previous students have been placed in renowned sectors. The library has many books and journals and there is also a WiFi facility accessible for all students and faculties. For admission, one needs to have 55% marks aggregate in their Bachelor's and qualify for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-pg) then has to apply on the University website by filling out one application form with a nominal registration fee and then the merit list will be displayed.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is designed in such a way that one will find it easy to follow. I chose Human Genetics as I have an interest in life sciences. The faculty members of my department are Post-Doc or PhD holders with a long time of teaching experience (all Assistant and Associate Professors). They cover the whole syllabus in a short period for students to prepare for exams by taking surprise tests and audio-visual teaching method. Exams used to be held approximately two months from the start of each semester. The fee structure of each semester is 6290/- for 6 months up to 2 years of the total course. In 3rd semester the fee might increase but that's very nominal and there's financial assistance for meritorious students from the previous semester (no cast differentiation here). No such scholarship is provided for unreserved candidates in Master's. The lab facility is perfect.
Internships Opportunities :
I've been placed in Med Genome labs as a Genome Analyst by clearing three rounds of interviews. My starting salary package is 3 LPA and that is stipend-based for one year. After one year it will be permanent. No such Internship is offered.
Placement Experience :
In my course, there are good placement opportunities in various Health Sectors in various states. Companies like Cipla, Nestle, MedGenome labs, Dr Reddy's laboratory, etc. offer recruitment. Two to three rounds of interviews are conducted by every company and mainly they are in online mode. The students get selected based on their performance in the interviews with a good salary package.
Campus Life :
Campus life is peaceful here with an eco-friendly environment. The University covers 500 acres of land including a hostel and mess. For the hostel, the charges are 8400 per semester for unreserved candidates. In each room, there are 3 people with separate beds, chairs, tables, and almirah with keys. There's a balcony in every room and 2 fans. The food quality in the mess is average and in non-veg, there's only egg. But one can go outside and have a good time and food as there are Cafeterias and restaurants just outside the main gate. The library has many journals and books for students of every department. Sports like volleyball, cricket, basketball, and badminton are well practised here and dance, drama, singing all cultural activities also take place. No such fest is organized here but there's a Dj sometimes mainly during Holi Lohri, and Navaratri occasions. PG facility is there just outside the main gate of the campus.

To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

Internships Opportunities :
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

Placement Experience :
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
