Remarks :

I appeared for MHTCET. Your score should be above 95%tile to get a good branch. For the Open category, it’s better to score above 98%tile for a good branch. There are currently 4 branches in the college, Computer Science Engineering(CSE), CSE & AIML, CSE & DS, Extc. Always give it a try for institute rounds for admissions.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the college mainly because it provides really good placement. For my department which is CSE, I’m in my final year right now and the maximum of our batch has been already placed with an average package of 15LPA CTC. Thus, w.r.t ROI, SPIT is a really good college. About the Faculty: For the core domain-related subjects, all the faculty members are PhD holders. The PhD-holding teachers are knowledgeable whereas the younger ones are good at teaching and understanding the student's perspective. We’ve mid-sem, and end-sem exams. The paper level is from moderate to tough. If you fail the end-sem exam, you get a chance to appear for re-exams at the cost of? 500 per subject. If caught cheating then the candidate is subject to pay? 8000 per subject to appear for an exam. The attendance rule is really strict, if 75% attendance is not maintained per subject then students are required to pay. 5000 per subject to appear for the respective exam.

Internships Opportunities :

Since our college has its business incubator, you’re always allowed to approach startups to grab any internship opportunities. These internships can either be paid or unpaid. Whereas once you get placed, which happens just after the end of 3rd year, most companies have an internship +PPO policy wherein you’re supposed to do a full-time paid internship in the last semester. Students with plans for a master, they are expected to do research internships which are mostly in collaboration with IITB or SPJIMR. This is a full-time internship taking place in the 6th semester.

Placement Experience :

The placement stats of our college are really good compared to the ongoing market conditions. We’ve recruiters like PhonePay, WorkIndia, JPMC, Nomura, Barclays, etc. The average CTC offered is 15LPA. The highest package goes around 40-50LPA. Job profiles are both in tech as well as non-tech. For the tech domain, there are roles like SDE, DA, etc. For non-tech domains, there are roles like associate product management, IB, consultancy, etc. The placement rate is 100% for all the beaches except for Extc, for which is it 98%.

Campus Life :

Our college doesn’t have a hostel, though one is under construction right now. The campus has a beautiful lake, basketball court, gym khana, football ground, and 2 messes for students. For a college in Mumbai, it’s a huge campus. Plus the college has really good committees and being a part of them helps you to grow your network. I was a part of a lot of committees, which helped me grow my network and land really good internships. Our college also has its very own business incubator called the Sardar Patel technology incubator, which empowers entrepreneurial students. For the mess on campus, there are 2 messes, 1 is owned by SPJIMR and another by SPCE. Both the mess offer good quality and tasty food at a reasonable rate.

An industry focused learning experience

Placement Experience :

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
