So for the college admission part, you have to give MHT-CET and the cutoff is usually above the 90 percentile for all the branches. For computer engineering, it goes to 95-96. But this college has a Gujarati quota so if you are a Gujarati you will get the benefit of getting admission even if you have a low percentile score. However, admission can also be given based on your JEE mains score as well. The syllabus for CET is the same as 12th standard. We have physics, chemistry, and maths. So I did not have to prepare separately for this exam you just need to have a good and thorough revision of all the important topics a month before the exam and it will go well. I am a Gujarati so I had to choose this college as it was the best one for me based on my percentile. Another reason is you compare the fees of this college with Somaiya Vidya Vihar it comes out to be very low so fees are comparatively less.
Everyone is hyped about pursuing a computer science degree so I also hopped upon and started exploring this field and found it very interesting. The course curriculum has all the basics and core subjects of computer science. In this 4-year degree, well the first year is the same for all the branches where we have basic sciences. After that, you will be learning your core subjects like operating systems, DSA, computer networks, system design, software engineering, DBMS, etc. The Faculty are qualified and most of them are very helpful and are good in teaching. Well, some of the teachers are there who are not that great at teaching. but with experience in different colleges, I have to say the faculty of this college is way better than some colleges like Shah and Anchor, VESIT, etc. They are strict when they have to be and friendly when you need it. Some professors are just exceptional and they are very passionate as well.
Internship opportunities are mostly NOT provided by the college. You have to find it yourself based on your skill set. But the most frustrating thing about doing internships is that my College has a 75% attendance criteria and we get only one month for doing internships. We at least need 3 months and the college faculty just does not understand this. Attendance and Internships are going to clash make this noted.
To sit for the placements you need to have a 7+ CGPA. To name some mass recruiters I would mention TCS, Accenture and Infosys. So the highest package offered this year(2024) was 17.5 LPA from the EXTC department, the guy was placed in IDFC FIRST BANK. The average package is found to be 6 LPA of course but all this is purely based on individual skills. Most of the time 80% of the students are placed. My plans after the degree are to work for 2-3 years, earn some money and then go to pursue my master's degree in the US/UK.
TECHNICAL FEST - RENAISSANCE which happens in October. T section has all the books you need be it academics or some other books. The classroom ambience is OK but there is no AC in the class during lectures only for LABS, there is AC. Sports activities are very organized almost every semester we have SCORE, our annual sports fest in which everyone gets an opportunity to participate in various sports like football, cricket, badminton, kabaddi, volleyball and many more. There are many clubs and committees in this college like CSI, IET, and IEEE. Clubs like GDSC, S4DS, etc are famous. Even social clubs like NSS are also there in which students participate in a social cause. Even there are music and dance clubs like PAUSE and SCORPIONS. Campus life is incomplete without friends so you will make great friends here. The seniors are also very helpful, there is no ragging or anything like that.
The food quality is not up to the mark but it is improving. But the hostel stay is legit very good it has very good and spacious rooms enough to accommodate 3 students in one room. Hostel life is good.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
