Remarks :

First of all, at the time I took admission, Miranda House was at NIRF ranking 1 and also maintained its rank for 5 consecutive years. Now that I have studied there, I think it is the best college and fulfills all my requirements and expectations. At that time, there was no entrance exam, I got admission based on the 12th class percentage, although quite a high cutoff. There were well-established labs with almost all instruments about my subjects botany, Zoology, and Chemistry, that helped us gain hands-on experience in various aspects. Professors are very informative, and helpful, they guide you for both study-related matters and even other problems since you live there alone. There are several internship opportunities and workshops that inspire and guide students about research. The library contains all the books required in the curriculum and also has a computer lab if you want to study something online. Campus life is amazing with a lot of extra activities. Placement cells help students get placed.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because of its wide scope providing enormous job opportunities covering almost all aspects of life sciences. Also, it helped me understand which subject should I continue in my Master's. Most of the professors had done their PhD and are still doing research in different fields in college only. Also in every class, there used to be 2 teachers, one senior and one junior, ensuring every student remained connected to the teacher. The PowerPoint notes that the teacher provided us for reference contain everything that you need to know about that topic. There was a semester system in my college so exams would be thereafter every 5 months, exams were set at a medium difficulty level considering all students. Even if students couldn't study the whole semester they can easily pass by referring to past year's question paper. In my entire course of 3 years, there were minimal changes in fees and no major hikes. Fees are affordable. There is financial assistance for needy students.

Internships Opportunities :

I just completed a summer internship that too unpaid under my professor in the course, on Drosophila. Similar internships are there in each department, but if you want to get a paid internship, you will have to apply outside college, for better opportunities.

Placement Experience :

There is a placement cell established in the college that helps students of all courses get placements, but very less companies visit our college and very less students get placed. Especially in my course, there were no placements, you will only get one after your master's. But ya you can apply outside college also based on your skills.

Campus Life :

Campus life is amazing. Fest is organized once every year around April. Fest lasts for 2 days with several mesmerizing performances, celebrity shows, stalls selling funky goods, also many food stalls. The library contains almost all the books and journals of national and international authors that you will need. Classrooms are well established, with good ventilation, big, spacious, and airy with both greenboards and digital projectors. On campus, there is a room from where you can get sports goods, play sports, and then return there. There are several societies in college for dance, music, drama, debate, placement cell, arts and crafts, NSS, NCC, and various other social work societies.

Hostel Facilities :

I opted for a hostel seat but I couldn't get one since there are only around 6 seats in my course and for other courses only, there are very less seats, otherwise, the hostel is nice with affordable fees well-maintained rooms, and timely food. I stayed in a PG in Hudson lane, there are several PGs around the college in Hudson Lane, Gtb nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, and Kamla Nagar area, As we go a bit away from colleges, PG prices start decreasing. Try to look for a PG slightly away from college but at walking distance.

Distance learning along with fun.

Placement Experience :

IGNOU offers limited direct campus placement opportunities, but the degree is widely recognized and helps improve employability. Students mainly secure jobs through off-campus applications, competitive exams, or by upgrading their skills. The flexible learning system allows learners to work, prepare for higher studies, or pursue professional certifications alongside their course. IGNOU also conducts periodic placement drives through its Campus Placement Cell.

DU Experience Packed with Learning, Practical Skills, and Dedicated Student Portfolio

Placement Experience :

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
