I am fascinated by the level of research in all domains of science and mathematics at this institution. It provides world-class instrumentation facilities to its students. The admission for MSc Chemistry here is based on the rank obtained in IIT JAM. If your rank lies around 600-700, you have a good chance of selection here(Gen. category). The only problem you might face here is of food, which you can easily overcome as the online food delivery applications are all over internet.
All the contents of the courses provided here are research-based. You always will be in the loop of what's going on in the scientific world. Institutions have great policies and provide many scholarships for eligible and needy students, like there are no tuition fees for SC/ST category students.
Yes, I did a Summer project on the campus only in which I learned about many important aspects of research. I got to know, see, and use any apparatus, I worked with some great mentors and scientists during the project.
This institution is purely and completely dedicated to research only so the number of placements offered is very low. But there are a few student groups which have been formed recently and they are working to open the placement doors for the companies so that they can come and appoint some brilliant minds in their company.
Life here at the IISER campus is great due to its easily adaptable weather. The campus feels so refreshing after the rain. There are many social groups on campus, some of which are cultural groups, some do some environment-friendly work, and some help society by giving lectures in nearby schools and colleges. You always feel entertained and joyful here.
Hostel rooms are clean, you get a cupboard and bed in each room. Each room has sufficient ventilation and a fan to get cool air in summer. Wherever you get admission into the institute you are allotted a room at same time. Sometimes you might have to share the room.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed

Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
