Khalsa College Mumbai Admission Updates

Khalsa College Mumbai admission to M.Sc Bioinformatics, Bioanalyticals, Nutraceuticals is open for the current academic year 2023-24. Candidates can check out the official website https://www.gnkhalsa.edu.in/ for more information.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College uses qualifying examination marks for most UG and PG admissions in 2026. B.Sc admission depends on Class 12 results, while BMS applicants take an entrance test and participate in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), the seat allotment process run by the Maharashtra CET Cell. Affiliated with the University of Mumbai, the college is a recognised Sikh minority institution. Selected students must pay the admission fee to secure their seat.

  • Every UG applicant must first register with the University of Mumbai at muugadmission.samarth.edu.in.
  • Students already studying at the college receive admission preference.
  • The first-year B.Sc intake is 460 seats.
  • The reservation distribution includes 35% for Sikh minority applicants, 15% under the Management Quota, 5% for women and persons with disabilities (PwD), and 45% for the Open category.
  • Applicable Government Freeship Schemes are available to eligible students from SC, ST, OBC, SBC, NT, VJNT and EBC categories.

Apply through the Guru Nanak Khalsa College Admission Portal: gnkhalsa.acadmin.in.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College BA, B.Sc and B.Com Admission 2026

Class 12 marks determine selection for BA, B.Sc and B.Com. The college has completed all five degree merit list rounds for 2026-27. Existing students seeking admission to the second year (SY) or third year (TY) can continue to apply through gnkhalsa.acadmin.in.

Eligibility for BA, B.Sc and B.Com

Programme Academic requirement
BA Pass 10+2 in any stream with at least 40% marks.
B.Sc
B.Com

B.Sc applicants must have studied Science with the relevant subjects in Class 12.

Merit lists, seat allocation and cutoffs

The University of Mumbai's rules govern seat allocation across streams. Using Class 12 marks, the college prepares individual merit lists for Open, Sikh minority and reserved-category applicants. The closing percentages across the 2026 merit list rounds were:

Programme Closing cutoff in 2026
BAF85%
B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Biotechnology80%
B.Com Aided and BFM75%
BBI and B.Sc AI and ML70%

Open-category applicants compete within a 50% share of seats, with the remaining 50% allocated to Sikh minority applicants. This makes competition for Open seats greater than the overall intake may suggest. Aim for marks 3 to 5 percentage points above the listed cutoff.

Application steps for BA, B.Sc and B.Com

  • Complete University of Mumbai registration at muugadmission.samarth.edu.in and enter College Code 57.
  • Submit the college application at gnkhalsa.acadmin.in/Admission/OnlineForm.
  • Attach the Class 12 marksheet and school leaving certificate. Upload caste and Sikh minority certificates wherever applicable.
  • On the scheduled release date, view the merit list on the college website.
  • If selected, attend document verification at the college within the allotted period. Complete the online admission fee payment to secure the seat.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College BMS, BBA and BCA Admission 2026

Applicants to BMS, BBA and BCA follow the entrance-based admission route. All three programmes have AICTE approval. Selection uses the MAH BMS/BBA/BCA CET 2026, followed by Maharashtra's CAP counselling. The State CET Cell handles the seat allotment rounds through cetcell.mahacet.org.

Eligibility and entrance test

Programmes Academic requirement Entrance test
BMS, BBA and BCA Class 12 in any stream, with at least 50% for General-category applicants or 45% for reserved-category applicants. MAH CET (BMS/BBA/BCA)

How seats are allotted

The MAH CET score determines a student's position on the State CET Cell merit list. CAP then allocates seats over several rounds. Applicants must register on the CET Cell portal, submit their preferred colleges and courses, and confirm the allotted college before that round's deadline.

Students describe good placement exposure in BMS and commerce-related courses. They also report campus recruitment visits by TCS, JP Morgan, Wipro and Capgemini.

Steps to secure BMS, BBA or BCA admission

  • Take the MAH CET (BMS/BBA/BCA) held by the Maharashtra State CET Cell.
  • After the results are announced, register for CAP at cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • When option forms open, enter your preferred courses and colleges.
  • Report to Guru Nanak Khalsa College within the relevant round's deadline to accept an allotted seat.
  • Present the original documents and complete fee payment at the college admission office.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College PG Admission 2026

Graduation marks form the basis of admission to every PG programme; applicants do not take an entrance examination. The postgraduate choices include MA, M.Com and M.Sc, with 8 M.Sc specialisations covering science and technology.

Academic requirements for PG applicants

Programme Required qualification
MA A BA, B.Sc, B.Com or equivalent bachelor's qualification in the relevant discipline from the University of Mumbai or another recognised university.
M.Com A B.Com or equivalent bachelor's qualification with an aggregate of at least 55%, awarded by the University of Mumbai or another recognised university.
M.Sc A B.Sc in the relevant subject, or an equivalent bachelor's qualification, with at least 55% aggregate marks from the University of Mumbai or another recognised university.

PG selection and seat confirmation

The college ranks PG applicants by their qualifying degree marks and publishes separate lists for Open and Sikh minority seats. Submit the dedicated postgraduate application at gnkhalsa.acadmin.in within the application deadline.

PG application procedure

  • Open gnkhalsa.acadmin.in and complete the form meant for postgraduate admissions.
  • Attach your graduation marksheets together with a transfer or migration certificate.
  • View the selection list when it is released, then attend document verification if shortlisted.
  • Secure admission by paying the semester fee within the prescribed period.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College Scholarships and Fee Support

Eligible students can seek financial help through Maharashtra government schemes and the college's own scholarship support.

  • Government Freeship: Maharashtra state schemes provide a full tuition fee waiver to eligible SC, ST, OBC, SBC, NT, VJNT and EBC students.
  • EWS Reservation: Students from economically weaker sections can claim the 10% EWS reservation and the related state scholarship.
  • Sikh Minority Concession: Sikh minority students admitted against minority quota seats can receive fee concessions.
  • College Merit Scholarship: College-level merit assistance may be available when annual family income is below INR 3,00,000 and the student scored at least 60% in the preceding semester.

Guru Nanak Khalsa College Admission FAQs

Ques. Which courses use qualifying marks, and which need a CET score?

Ans. Class 12 results determine merit for BA, B.Sc and B.Com, while PG selection uses graduation marks. None of these courses requires an entrance test. For BMS, BBA and BCA, students need a valid MAH CET (BMS/BBA/BCA) score and must participate in Maharashtra CAP, which the State CET Cell manages.

Ques. How do Sikh minority reservations differ between degree courses and Class 11?

Ans. Sikh minority applicants have a 35% reservation in UG degree seats. At the FYJC, or Class 11, level, the allocation is 50% for Sikh minority students and 45% for the Open category. Students claiming minority reservation must present a valid Sikh minority certificate during document verification.

Ques. What Class 12 result and subjects should BA, B.Com and B.Sc applicants have?

Ans. General-category applicants must score at least 40% in Class 12 from a recognised board. For B.Sc, students must also have completed Class 12 in Science with the relevant subjects.

Ques. What steps and minimum marks apply to a BMS applicant?

Ans. Applicants first take MAH CET (BMS/BBA/BCA), then join the Maharashtra State CET Cell's CAP through cetcell.mahacet.org. BMS has AICTE approval. The Class 12 minimum is 50% for General-category students and 45% for reserved-category students.

Ques. What percentage did the 2026 closing merit lists reach for different courses?

Ans. At 85%, BAF had the highest closing cutoff. The closing figure was 80% for both B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Biotechnology, and 75% for B.Com Aided and BFM. BBI and B.Sc AI and ML each closed at 70%. These figures relate to the 2026 merit list rounds; cutoffs differ across categories and rounds.

Ques. Where should Class 10 students register for first-year junior college admission?

Ans. Use mahafyjcadmissions.in for the centralised FYJC process. Register with your Class 10 SSC result, enter college choices and view the allotment list on its announced release date. Selection uses merit calculated from the best five Class 10 subjects, without an entrance examination.

Ques. Which certificates and identity documents should applicants keep ready?

Ans. Keep your Class 12 marksheet, school leaving certificate, Aadhaar card and passport-size photographs ready. Reserved-category applicants need a caste certificate, and students claiming Sikh minority status need the relevant minority certificate. For PG admission, also submit graduation marksheets and a migration or transfer certificate.

Ques. How can eligible reserved-category students claim government freeship?

Ans. Maharashtra's government freeship schemes cover eligible students from SC, ST, OBC, SBC, NT, VJNT and EBC categories. To claim the benefit, apply on the state scholarship portal and submit your admission confirmation letter along with the family income certificate.
