SPMVV Courses, Eligibility and Fees

Undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, diploma and PhD courses make up SPMVV's more than 60 programme options. Total fees start at INR 9,715 for M.Ed and reach INR 5,25,000 for the PhD in Computer Science and Engineering. The main courses, their entry requirements and general-category total fees are listed below. PCM means Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; PCB means Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Among the university's less common choices are the MBA in Media Management and the five-year integrated B.Sc and M.Sc in Biotechnology, whose total fee is INR 2,22,145. Its M.Sc in Sericulture is one of India's few postgraduate courses in this subject. All five major M.Pharm specialisations are available through the Pharmaceutical Technology school.

How Admission Works at SPMVV

Only women can apply to SPMVV's programmes. State entrance examinations conducted by APSCHE lead to centralised online counselling, where seats are assigned. Direct entry outside the state counselling route is not available.

B.Tech Eligibility and Admission Steps

For B.Tech, applicants need at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at Class 12 level. The requirement is 40% for SC and ST applicants. AP EAPCET rank determines selection through the following steps:

• Clear AP EAPCET, then complete registration on the online counselling portal.
• Submit college choices and preferred engineering branches online.
• Check the provisional seat allocation, which considers rank, category and the choices entered.
• Visit SPMVV to have documents verified and pay the fees.
• Complete admission confirmation and obtain the provisional allotment order.

MBA and MCA Selection

Applicants to MBA and MCA must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. MCA also requires Mathematics at graduation level. APSCHE handles the full counselling process online, using AP ICET rank to assign seats. In earlier admission cycles, an AP ICET percentile above 70 has generally been enough for the MBA at SPMVV.

Entry to Law, Pharmacy, Nursing and Education

Applicants for the three-year LLB and integrated BA LLB enter through AP LAWCET web counselling. B.Pharm and B.Sc Nursing use AP EAPCET under the Bi.P.C group, meaning Biology, Physics and Chemistry; B.Pharm also accepts the PCM eligibility route listed in the course table. For B.Ed, students need graduation and a valid APEDCET rank. These courses follow APSCHE's centralised counselling schedules.

Postgraduate and Research Admissions

APPGCET is the route for M.Sc, MA, M.Com, M.P.Ed and M.Ed. M.Tech accepts GATE or AP PGECET, while M.Pharm uses AP PGECET. PG admissions follow the APSCHE web counselling calendar, usually during July to September, with later rounds governed by the notified schedule. Research applicants must either hold a valid UGC NET or GATE score or pass the university's SPMVV Research Entrance Test.

SPMVV Placement Outcomes

Graduates from Engineering, Pharmacy and Management receive recruitment support through SPMVV's Placement Cell. It coordinates opportunities both on campus and outside the university. For 2024-25, the average annual package was INR 4 LPA, compared with a highest package of INR 10 LPA. Here, LPA means lakhs per annum.

Software development, embedded systems and data analytics are the main areas of work for B.Tech graduates. MBA recruitment covers banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), along with retail and media. Pharmacy graduates mainly move into medical coding, clinical research and pharmaceutical quality control.

Students interested in starting a business can use the university's eight incubation centres, including TBI and TOCIC. Women graduates in engineering and management have used these facilities to establish ventures in education technology, agriculture technology and healthcare.

SPMVV NIRF Rankings

Pharmacy is SPMVV's highest-ranked school, with a national NIRF position of 60. The University category covers its wider range of subjects, while the State Public University category provides a separate comparison with other public institutions. For six consecutive years, the Pharmacy school has remained within NIRF's top 60. Its record reflects sustained research output, faculty qualifications and links with the pharmaceutical industry. In the State Public University category, the 51-100 band places SPMVV in the middle group of performers.

SPMVV Campus Facilities and Student Life

Padmavati Nagar in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, is home to SPMVV's 138-acre campus. Separate buildings serve its five academic schools, with dedicated blocks for engineering and computer sciences. Students also have access to a central library, a sericulture complex and a university auditorium. Resident students can seek medical help at the campus Health Centre.

More than 3,000 students live in the university's ten residential hostels. Facilities include reading rooms, a mess, laundry services and recreation areas, supported by 24-hour security. The campus is planned as a fully residential academic community for women.

Entrepreneurship support comes from eight incubation centres. These include the UGC-funded Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and TOCIC, both recognised by ARIIA among leading national incubators. International partnerships with Loughborough University in the UK and Universite de Montreal in Canada support student exchanges and joint research.

As the Tirupati region's only dedicated women's university, SPMVV is a leading choice for applicants who want to study in a women-only setting.
