Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), was established on 4th April 2007 by GERMI (Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute) in Gandhinagar. It was formerly known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU). The university is UGC-recognized and NAAC-accredited with a prestigious ‘A++’ grade. According to PDEU rankings, NIRF 2024 placed it in the 101-150 band out of 300 colleges in the engineering category, while Outlook 2025 ranked it 8th out of 52 in the overall category.

PDEU offers BTech as its flagship course. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks (or 40% for SC/ST candidates). Admissions are based on performance in the JEE Main or GUJCET examination. The university allocates 33% of seats for Gujarat candidates and 67% for All-India candidates. PDEU Placement 2024 for BTech Computer Science Engineering showcased impressive outcomes, with the highest CTC offered reaching 38 LPA. The average CTC was INR 9.01 LPA.
