PGP CAT Sectional and Academic Cutoffs by Category

The minimum CAT percentile is 85 for GEN, 75 for OBC-NCL/EWS, 60 for SC and 55 for ST/PwD. Class 10 minimum marks are 60% for GEN/OBC-NCL/EWS, while reserved categories have lower requirements, including 45% for ST/PwD.

PGP-LSM CAT Sectional and Academic Cutoffs by Category

For PGP-LSM, the minimum sectional percentile is 80 for GEN, 70 for OBC-NCL/EWS and 60 for SC. ST/PwD cutoffs fall between 55 and 60 percentile across sections, giving a 25-point gap between GEN and ST/PwD at the highest sectional requirement.

Minimum Cutoff vs Actual Shortlist Cutoff

The minimum CAT cutoff only makes a candidate eligible for the next step. It does not guarantee an IIM Kozhikode interview call. After eligible candidates complete registration, IIMK prepares a category-wise shortlist through AIS. AIS uses CAT performance, Class 10 and 12 marks, work experience, and gender or academic diversity.

Selection Criteria

IIM Kozhikode selects PGP candidates in three stages: online registration, AIS-based shortlisting, and final selection through WAT and PI.

Stage 1: Online Registration

  • Candidates move to Stage 2 only if they complete the registration process.

Stage 2: Shortlisting via Aggregate Index Score (AIS)

IIM Kozhikode prepares a category-wise shortlist through the Aggregate Index Score (AIS).

  • The AIS uses these factors:
    • CAT performance
    • Class X and XII academic performance
    • Work experience
    • Gender and academic diversity
  • Candidates must select IIM Kozhikode during CAT registration to be considered for shortlisting.
  • Shortlisted candidates are called for the final selection stage.

Stage 3: Final Selection Weightage

The final merit list is based on AIS, WAT and PI scores. Admission offers are made as per merit and reservation rules.

Selection Component PGP PGP-LSM PGP Finance
CAT/AIS / Eligibility Exam Score 35% 40% -
PI Score 35% 40% 35%
WAT Score 20% 20% 10%
Resume / Work Experience Score 10% - 10%
Quantitative Section Score - - 15%
DI Section Score - - 15%
Finance Orientation Score - - 15%
Total 100% 100% 100%

How to Calculate IIM Kozhikode Final Composite Score?

The final composite score is made by applying the given weightage to each selection part. The examples below show how scores add up for PGP, PGP-LSM and PGP-Finance.

Program Example Scores Calculation Final Score
PGP CAT/AIS = 80
PI = 75
WAT = 70
Work Experience Score = 60

(80x35%) + (75x35%) + (70x20%) + (60x10%)

74.75
PGP-LSM AIS = 80
PI = 75
WAT = 70

(80x40%) + (75x40%) + (70x20%)

PGP-Finance

PI = 75
WAT = 70
QS = 80
DI = 75
Finance Orientation = 70
Work Experience = 60

(75x35%) + (70x10%) + (80x15%) + (75x15%) + (70x15%) + (60x10%)

73.75
  • PGP Final Score: (CAT/AIS x 35%) + (PI x 35%) + (WAT x 20%) + (Resume x 10%)
  • PGP-LSM Final Score: (AIS x 40%) + (PI x 40%) + (WAT x 20%)
  • PGP-Finance Final Score: (PI x 35%) + (WAT x 10%) + (QA x 15%) + (DI x 15%) + (Finance Orientation x 15%) + (Resume/Work Experience x 10%)

Note:

  • WAT: Essay on a topic announced at the venue.
  • PI: Checks academics, awareness, personality, communication and work experience.
  • Cities: Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi.
  • Resume Score: Based on professional qualifications and certifications.

Common Mistakes That Can Hurt an IIMK Application

  • Treating the minimum CAT percentile as a guaranteed shortlist cutoff.
  • Delaying WAT and PI preparation after getting shortlisted.
  • Calculating or reporting eligible work experience incorrectly.
  • Thinking PGP, PGP-Finance and PGP-LSM follow the same admission criteria.
  • Preparing only for CAT and ignoring academics and profile-based components.

How to Apply for PGP at IIM Kozhikode?

  • Select IIM Kozhikode as a preferred institute during CAT registration.
  • After CAT results, IIMK will send Stage 2 registration emails to eligible candidates.
  • Complete Stage 2 registration on the IIMK portal at iimk.ac.in/apps/Admission/PGP/Login and pay the application fee of INR 3,000.
  • Appear for WAT and PI at the allotted city centre on the scheduled date.
  • Track Stage 3 offer and waitlist status through the AIMS portal at aims.iimk.ac.in.

Key Note: CAT percentile alone does not decide the IIMK shortlist. Candidates with 90-plus percentile but weak Class X or XII marks have been rejected at Stage 2. Strong scores across CAT, Class X and Class XII improve AIS rank.

IIM Kozhikode PGP Fee 2027

PGP, PGP-Finance and PGP-LSM follow the same fee structure for the 2026-28 batch. For the PGP 2027-28 batch, the institute may revise the fee.

Program Year Annual Fee
Year 1 (includes tuition, hostel, and other charges) INR 11.75 Lakhs
Year 2 (includes tuition, hostel, and other charges) INR 11.75 Lakhs
Total Program Fee INR 23.50 Lakhs

Subject to revision. Kindly check with the official sources to confirm

To understand the PI cutoff: For example, if the PI is for 100 marks, a General candidate needs at least 25 marks, while an SC/ST/PwD candidate needs at least 15 marks. Candidates who clear the PI cutoff have their EMAT/CAT score and PI score combined for the final merit list.
