BITS Pilani M.E. Eligibility 2026

To be eligible for M.E. admission, candidates must meet the following BITS Pilani requirements:

Candidates must have completed B.E. / B.Tech (or equivalent degree).
A minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying degree exam.
A valid GATE/ BITS HD Online test score.
Admissions to the M.E. Software Systems will only be through BITS HD Test.

BITS Pilani admission to all M.E. (except Software systems) programs are through BITS HD (Higher Degree) online admission test or based on GATE score. However, admissions to the M.E. Software Systems program is only through the BITS HD test.

BITS HD Test

The BITS HD Test is an entrance exam conducted by BITS Pilani for admission to M.E. program. It is a computer-based test that evaluates a candidate’s knowledge in the chosen discipline and general aptitude. Candidates can also apply using a valid GATE score.

The exam details are as follows:

Marking: +3 for correct, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted

BITS Pilani Scholarships 2025

BITS Pilani offers financial support to ME students through scholarships and stipends based on their admission. Students admitted via GATE or the BITS HD Test are eligible for monthly financial assistance and are required to contribute as Teaching Assistants.

Candidates who applied through GATE are eligible for GATE scholarship provided by AICTE/PCI.
Additional tuition fee waiver of INR 13,400 per month (during the semester).
Candidates who applied through BITS HD Test Route are eligible for a stipend of INR 13,400 per month (during the semester).
All candidates receiving a fee waiver or stipend must contribute 8–10 hours/ week as a Graduate Student Teaching Assistant.
