MGMCET Admission Process
MGMCET uses different admission routes for BE, BE Lateral Entry and ME. DTE Maharashtra conducts CAP for most seats, while the college handles Management quota admission directly. Applicants must meet the course eligibility rules and complete the process assigned to their seat category.
| Programme | Exam Accepted | Seat Type | Process |
|---|---|---|---|
| BE, 4 years | MHT CET or JEE Main | 80% CAP seats | DTE Maharashtra CAP through cetcell.mahacet.org |
| BE, 4 years | No entrance examination required | 20% Management quota | Direct admission through MGMCET |
| BE Lateral Entry, 3 years | MH DECT or diploma marks | CAP seats | DTE Maharashtra DSE process |
| ME, 2 years | GATE or MH PGCET | CAP and Management seats | DTE Maharashtra ME CAP through cetcell.mahacet.org |
BE Admission through CAP
DTE Maharashtra fills 80% of MGMCET BE seats through CAP. After the MHT CET or JEE Main result, students must register on cetcell.mahacet.org, enter their college and branch choices, and respond to the allotment released for each round.
- Applicants need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The minimum aggregate is 50% for the General category and 45% for Maharashtra reserved categories.
- A valid score from the MHT CET PCM paper or JEE Main is required.
- Students register at cetcell.mahacet.org, list their preferred college and branch, accept the allotted seat, pay the confirmation fee, and report to MGMCET with their original documents.
BE Admission through Management Quota
MGMCET directly fills the remaining 20% of BE seats under the Management quota. These applicants do not need an MHT CET or JEE Main score and can apply to the college through mgmcet.edu.in.
- Students must pass 10+2 with PCM and obtain at least 50% aggregate, or 45% if they belong to a reserved category.
- The MGMCET institutional-level admissions committee selects students.
- No entrance examination is needed for this route.
BE Lateral Entry Admission
Students may enter the second year of BE after completing an Engineering diploma with at least 45% marks from a recognised polytechnic. B.Sc graduates who studied Mathematics are also eligible. DTE Maharashtra conducts admission through the Direct Second Year Engineering process, using MH DECT ranks or diploma marks for Lateral Entry CAP.
ME Admission
Admission to ME in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Structural Engineering takes place through DTE Maharashtra ME CAP. An applicant must have a relevant BE or B.Tech degree with at least 50% aggregate, reduced to 45% for reserved categories, along with a valid GATE score or MH PGCET rank.
