Sabarmati University Courses and Fees

At the undergraduate level, the BA fee is INR 60,000 for all three years. The School of Vocational Studies also runs B.Voc and D.Pharm pathways linked to employment in Gujarat’s chemical, petrochemical and banking sectors.

Sabarmati University Admission Process

Merit in the qualifying examination decides admission to most undergraduate courses. A university entrance test may apply to selected postgraduate programmes, while PhD applicants must meet the entrance test and interview requirements. Applications are submitted through the online portal at sabarmatiuniversity.edu.in.

1. Choose a programme and confirm its academic and subject requirements.
2. Complete the application through the university’s online portal.
3. Provide qualifying examination details and any required entrance test score.
4. Submit the supporting documents to the Directorate of Admissions on campus for verification.
5. Attend the entrance test, portfolio review or interview when the chosen programme requires it.
6. Complete seat allotment and admission formalities after selection.

Programme-wise Selection Criteria

UG Programmes: BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA and B.Sc

For these undergraduate programmes, selection takes place through 10+2 marks and document checks rather than a national entrance examination.

• Applicants must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board.
• The minimum requirement is 45% marks in 10+2, reduced to 35% for reserved categories.
• Course-specific subjects apply. B.Sc requires a Science background, while B.Com requires Commerce.

For the next academic year, applications generally begin from December to January, followed by final seat allocation from June to July. The Directorate of Admissions verifies documents on campus.

Pharmacy Programmes: B.Pharm, Pharm.D, D.Pharm and M.Pharm

Pharmacy admissions follow Pharmacy Council of India requirements and the pharmacy admission procedure set by the Gujarat government.

• For undergraduate pharmacy study, students need Physics and Chemistry with either Biology or Mathematics in 10+2.
• B.Pharm state-quota admission uses GUJCET, while a NEET UG score is also accepted.
• M.Pharm applicants can use a GPAT score, and the university entrance route is also available.

Law Programme: 3-year LLB

Bar Council of India rules apply to the three-year LLB. An applicant needs a bachelor’s degree in any subject with at least 45% marks. Selection is merit-based, and seat allocation follows the Gujarat State Bar Council admission schedule.

MBA and Other PG Programmes

MBA selection considers graduation performance and may also involve the university entrance test and a personal interview. A national management test is not compulsory, although valid CAT, MAT or CMAT scores may receive consideration during merit assessment. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks.

PhD Admission

A relevant postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks is required for PhD admission. Applicants who have qualified UGC-NET or CSIR-NET do not need to take the university entrance test and move directly to the interview stage.

Sabarmati University Placements

The Training and Placement Cell arranges recruitment activity for students. Placement opportunities mainly cover the Gujarat employment market in pharmacy, IT, commerce and management.

According to the university, the highest package has reached INR 15 LPA, while the average stands at INR 4 LPA. Participating departments report placements for 50% or above of eligible students.

Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Intas Pharma, Glenmark and Meghmani Organics are among the Gujarat-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that have hired pharmacy graduates. Recruiters for IT and BCA students include TCS, Vodafone and other technology companies. MBA graduates have found opportunities with Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Allianz, and businesses in hospitality and logistics.

Sabarmati University Campus and Infrastructure

The Green Woods Campus occupies a site in Ahmedabad’s Chandlodia-Ognaj area, near Sardar Patel Ring Road and Vaishno Devi Circle. Students have access to Wi-Fi, digital libraries, seminar halls and specialised facilities for pharmacy, science and computer education.

Each school has dedicated laboratories. These include pharmacy laboratories that meet PCI standards, science and computer labs, and a moot court for law students. For most undergraduate courses, internship exposure starts in the third semester. Industry links within Gujarat support internship placements.

Separate on-campus hostel accommodation is offered to boys and girls. The annual hostel charge is up to INR 66,550 for either group and covers a room with basic facilities. Since the hostels accommodate only part of the student population, students coming from outside Ahmedabad receive priority.

Sabarmati University vs Silver Oak University vs Parul University

Silver Oak University in Ahmedabad and Parul University in Vadodara are two other private universities in Gujarat considered alongside Sabarmati University. Each provides a broad course selection for students looking for private university education within the state.

For Sabarmati University, the listed BA and MBA costs are lower than those stated for the other two universities, whose fees must be confirmed directly. Parul University has an A+ NAAC grade, a 101 to 150 position in the NIRF 2025 band and a wider engineering portfolio. Silver Oak University combines an Ahmedabad location with an A NAAC grade for its professional courses. Sabarmati University’s law and pharmacy programmes in Ahmedabad carry BCI and PCI approvals, and its listed fees include INR 2.00 Lakhs for B.Pharm.
