AIIMS Mangalagiri Internship

Students pursuing MBBS in AIIMS Mangalagiri get to do a 1-year compulsory internship at the campus medical college. The students must work in the hospital OPD, IPD, and rural areas to complete their MBBS course and receive the degree. During the internship, the students get paid a stipend of INR 25,000 per month.

AIIMS Mangalagiri is one of the newly set up medical institutes in the country. Being the newly set up campus, the institute comes with some pros and cons.

Pros: Some of AIIMS Mangalagiri's Pros are as follows,

Campus: The campus is built on the outskirts of Guntur. Surrounded by hills, the campus gives a serene environment for the students. The facilities in the institute like the lab, hostels, and library are equipped with the latest technology instruments.
Faculty: The faculty at AIIMS Mangalagir is amazing. Most of the faculty is recruited from JIPMER and other prestigious medical colleges across the country. All the faculty members are well knowledged and experienced.
Ragging Free: AIIMS Mangalagiri campus is completely free of ragging. The seniors bond with juniors and help them to settle down on campus.
Workshops: AIIMS Mangalagiri conducts regular workshops in the campus. All the major departments like pharmacology, oncology, and gynecology conduct workshops on the campus.

Cons: AIIMS Mangalagiri's cons are as follows,

Language Barrier: For students from non-Telugu-speaking states, learning Telugu becomes mandatory. As Mangalagiri is located in a remote location, locals can speak only in their native language. So, during the clinicals in the 2^nd year, conversations in Telugu cannot be avoided.

Limited Courses: AIIMS Mangalagiri offers only MBBS, B.Sc, MD, MS, and PDCC courses. The institute does not offer a wide range of courses in various specializations.

Remote Location: As the campus is located away from the city, students will not find any entertainment activities near the campus. They have to travel to Guntur or Vijayawada to enjoy recreational activities.

AIIMS Mangalgiri has signed MoUs with multiple organizations to develop the academic and research skills of the students.
IIT Madras: AIIMS Mangalagiri has signed an MoU with IIT Madras to exchange students, faculty, and scholarly information for mutual interest. Both institutes have also come together to sponsor workshops, seminars, and health & wellness programs.
NID Andhra Pradesh: NID Andhra Pradesh has signed an MoU with AIIMS Mangalagiri to promote academic collaboration and multidisciplinary research through exchange programs.
