AIIMS Deoghar Courses and Fees

AIIMS Deoghar provides undergraduate, postgraduate, super-speciality and research programmes in medicine, nursing, allied health sciences and public health. The total MBBS institutional fee is INR 22,780 for 5.5 years. Four-year B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing costs INR 9,285, while fees for B.Sc allied health courses fall between INR 4,185 and INR 5,205. The 5-year integrated BPH + MPH course costs INR 1,77,000.

Super-speciality choices include DM in Cardiology, Neurology, Neonatology and Pulmonary Medicine. M.Ch options cover Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Burns and Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Urology. The integrated BPH + MPH course, offered by AIIMS Deoghar among the newer AIIMS institutes, prepares students for public health careers.

AIIMS Deoghar Admission Process

Entrance examinations determine admission to every major programme at AIIMS Deoghar. The exam and counselling authority depend on the selected course.

MBBS Admission

NEET UG is the only entrance examination accepted for MBBS admission. All 125 MBBS seats are filled through MCC under the All India Quota, and AIIMS Deoghar does not have a state-quota allocation.

• Applicants must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum aggregate is 50% for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• The age requirement is 17 to 25 years on December 31 of the admission year. The upper limit is 30 years for SC/ST/PwD applicants.
• Selection considers the NEET UG score and rank, MCC counselling, document verification at the institute and final admission confirmation.

2. Register for MCC online counselling and submit course and institute choices.
3. Accept the allotted seat and report to AIIMS Deoghar for document verification.
4. Complete the required formalities to confirm admission.

B.Sc Nursing and Allied Health Admissions

The B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing course has 62 seats. AIIMS New Delhi centrally conducts its entrance test and admission process. Applicants need Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 45%. Central government reservation rules apply.

For B.Sc Allied Health Sciences, applicants must have completed 10+2 with Biology. AIIMS Deoghar conducts an institute-level entrance test, prepares the merit list and manages counselling and seat allotment.

PG and Super-speciality Admissions

Admission to MD, MS, MDS, DM and M.Ch is through INI-CET, which AIIMS New Delhi conducts for the Institutes of National Importance. AIIMS Deoghar offers 57 PG seats across its disciplines. MD/MS applicants need an MBBS degree with 55% aggregate, or 50% for SC/ST candidates, and must complete a 12-month rotating internship.

INI-CET is organised in January and July cycles. The January 2027 cycle will determine the next postgraduate intake. Counselling is centralised through aiimsexams.ac.in.

AIIMS Deoghar Cutoff

AIIMS Deoghar MBBS cutoffs depend on the NEET UG rank, category and MCC counselling round. For General-category applicants in 2025, Round 1 closed at 3,164, while the final Stray Vacancy Round reached 9,475. The final-round closing rank moved from 6,373 in 2023 to 7,381 in 2024 and 9,475 in 2025.

AIIMS Deoghar Placements and Career Outcomes

AIIMS Deoghar does not run a conventional campus placement system. After the compulsory internship, MBBS graduates commonly prepare for postgraduate admission, apply for government medical posts or work in hospitals and private practice.

Graduates receive an MBBS degree from an Institute of National Importance. The qualification can be used for competitive examinations, postgraduate entrance tests and central government health-service opportunities linked with the Ministry of Health.

AIIMS Deoghar Campus and Infrastructure

AIIMS Deoghar stands at Devipur on the outskirts of Deoghar city. Its 236.92-acre campus is among the larger campuses developed for the AIIMS institutes established in 2019. Work on the complete hospital block, academic building and residential areas remains in progress as of 2026.

The teaching hospital has a functioning 250-bed inpatient department, OPD, emergency wing, blood bank and telemedicine centre. Phase 2 development is planned to raise hospital capacity to 750 beds. Clinical laboratories, a radiology unit and operation theatres also support training for students in the B.Sc Allied Health Sciences programmes.

MBBS students can use hostel accommodation within the campus. Residential quarters for faculty and staff are being built under the campus master plan. Deoghar is a Tier-3 city with limited urban facilities, while the institute campus provides mess services, a medical store and a small student activity area.

AIIMS Deoghar vs AIIMS Patna vs AIIMS Kalyani

Students considering medical institutes in eastern India may compare AIIMS Deoghar with AIIMS Patna in Bihar and AIIMS Kalyani in West Bengal. All three admit MBBS students through MCC under the All India Quota, but they differ in age, seat count, hospital capacity and NEET UG cutoff patterns.

Among the three institutes, AIIMS Patna has the longest operating history, a hospital with more than 750 beds and a place in the NIRF Medical rankings. AIIMS Deoghar provides the largest annual MBBS intake, with 125 seats compared with 100 seats each at AIIMS Patna and AIIMS Kalyani. AIIMS Kalyani and AIIMS Deoghar were both established in 2019 and are at similar stages of development, while AIIMS Kalyani is closer to Kolkata.
