Barasat Government college offers the Bachelor of Arts (General and Honours) course under 7 different specializations, the Bachelor of Science (General) course under 3 different specializations and the Bachelor of Science (Honours) course under 7 different specializations. Candidates who have completed their 10 + 2 studies from a recognized board of education and have secured 60% aggregate marks or more (40% for SC / ST) are eligible to apply for admission into the B.A. and B.Sc. courses. Barasat Government college offers the Master of Arts (M.A.) course under one specialization, that is Bengali and also the Master of Science (M.Sc.) course under three totally different specializations that are – botany, Physics and zoology.
