Remarks :
This college is good in many aspects. It is an government college so facilities here are good compared to other local colleges. besides, this college is nearby Barasat Junction Railway Station and Sethpukur Bus Stop. So, it is easier to travel from home. Students can take admission after completing Higher Secondary or Similar Examinations. I applied through West Bengal's central admission portal (WBCAP). Admission process was easy.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am a dropper. I am preparing for JEE. But I wanted to have a backup plan so, I took admission in B.Sc. This course is comparably easier than Honors. Faculties here are well behaved. They also have good teaching skills. Semester exams are taken once in every 6 months. And internal exams are taken 1 month before the semester exams. difficulty of both internal and external (semester) exams are pretty easy. students with decent knowledge can pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
This is not an engineering or medical or any other technical college. So, we don't have the opportunity for an internship to help in our work life. But many companies accept students if they have proper degree, but they have to complete their degree course before.
Placement Experience :
There is no placement cell in our college, so students pursue higher studies after completing this degree. Average number of students get decent job placements off campus. Also generous amount of students go for B.TECH, UPSC like courses after this degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
At the time of admission, students have to pay 1328 Rupees which includes First Semester Tuition Fees, Library Charges, Student Union Funds, Electricity Bill, etc. And the following semester tuition fees will be 1050 Rupees each. Which means first year tuition fees will be 2378 Rupees and following years will be 2100 each. Theres no discount in fees for category students, they also have to pay the same. there is mostly all scholarships available to apply such as SVMCMS (18,000 rupees per year), OASIS (for SC, ST students), Kanyasree (for girls).
Campus Life :
A yearly fest is organized every year in January. This fest is called Exuberance. pretty decent artists come and perform every year. Library is very good with a large collection of books, journals and magazines. Library has strong Wi-Fi network and there are 2 computers for students to use within library. Classrooms are equipped with whiteboards and Projectors. Everyday students play cricket in the college playground. plus there is carrom, table tennis and other indoor sports in students union room.
Hostel Facilities :
This is a day college and students come from nearby places or come in trains. So, there is no hostel or mess available for students in this college. but students can opt for PGs because college is situated in the heart of Barasat and there's plenty of guest rooms and PGs.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
