The course curriculum in Political Science involved subjects like Introduction to Political Theory, Public Administration, Communicative English, Political Ideology, Comparative Government and so on. Exams were conducted twice: Internal and External exams. Each semester lasted for 6 months. Faculties were experienced in their respective fields and helped to clear doubts.
The college is well known for the arts and science subjects. The admission to this college is entirely based on 10+2 marks. A merit list is prepared and students are allowed to enroll. There was no such GD, PI or written tests for admission.
Read Full ReviewAs of now, no campus placement has been held for our batch. But for the previous batch, certain opportunities were given from 2-3 companies. The administration provides really good guidance regarding placement opportunities. However, the college does not guarantee 100 percent placement to all graduate students. The case might be different for the students pursuing post-graduation courses from this college.
I chose this college because its economics department had a good reputation among all the other colleges in Kolkata. Basanti Devi College has some of the best professors. Their college timing is also very flexible. There is no entrance exam for admission in Basanti Devi College but there will be particular Cut-offs for different courses. For my economics course, the cut-off was around 60% and higher. The college fees are also very affordable.
