Jogamaya Devi college is a women’s institute affiliated with the University of Calcutta. It was established in 1932 to encourage women’s education in Kolkata. It is accredited with NAAC grade B and is approved by UGC.

Jogamaya Devi college BA, BCom, BSc Hons, and MA, the admissions to which are based on the merit of the previous examination. A candidate with 60% marks is 10+2 (for UG courses) or graduation (for PG courses) is eligible for admissions to Jogamaya Devi college.

Jogamaya Devi College Admissions

Admission to the Jogamaya Devi college is based on the Merit in the previous academic examination of the candidate. The college will publish the list of the selected candidates for the admission counselling round.

  • For admission in Undergraduate courses, the candidates must have passed English subject as one of the subjects with marks of not less than that of 100 marks in 10+2.
  • For Postgraduate courses, only MA Bengali and M.Sc Botany are offered under Calcutta university while the rest of pg courses are offered under Vidyasagar University.
  • For SC/ST candidates the candidates must have secured a graduate mark of a minimum of 45% to obtained admission at the pg course offered under the Vidyasagar university.
