What I Liked

Campus life is amazing and the college has best night life almost all night has programes
College has a physical education building which support games and sports

What I didn’t like

Students vechice parking is not allowed inside the campus
In some buildings no lift is provided. But in new buildings lift facilities is provided

Placement Experience:

Eligibility of placement is based on CGPA upto previous semester and their is no baglogs. The companys visited are TCS, Microsoft, LAT, federal Bank etc. The average package is 50000 for 1 month. Around 50 % students get placement.

Remarks:

The college is one of the best college in Kerala. The selection for mtech course is based on merit list that is published in the technical university website. So their is no other interview or writen test.

Placement Experience:

If college doesn't offer on-campus placements, don't worry! There are numerous avenues to explore for job opportunities. Focus on building your skills, networking, and actively seeking off-campus positions, internships, or even starting your own venture. Many students find success through these alternative routes.

Remarks:

For placement and reach the college does really well considering other college affiliated with ktu but a few faculty/staff does make a bad aspect for the college. For admission into main stream like cse,ece,eee a minimum rank of 1000 should be attained in keam entrence examination

Is College of Engineering Trivandrum worth it

What I Liked

The infrastructure is really good here. There are many labs and cafeteria is very spacious
The campus life might be one of the best in kerala.

What I didn’t like

I quite dislike the faculty. I wish they could be more friendly with the students.
The curriculum is very hectic and I find it hard to keep up.

Placement Experience:

Placement and internship opportunities are very much avilable. There is seperate office to assist students with placements. And many do get placed to several firms. Placements starts at 3rd year of the course.

Remarks:

The examination for entry is Nata and the score of this is added with ur plus 2 exam score and uploaded in the KEAM website for admission. Ranks are published and the admission is through these ranks.

The CET life

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in Industrial engineering and hence opted for this course. The faculty are the best qualified in the state to teach the course subjects but are not very approachable. There are 2 series exams and one university examination in each semester.

Remarks:

CET is the best college under KTU and is known for its legacy. It has the best placements in the state and is very reputable when it comes to academics and extracurriculars. No Group discussion or interviews are there but an exam called KEAM for admission.

Life at CET

What I Liked

Very lively campus life, with fests and other activities organized by students

What I didn’t like

The general attitude of the faculty, being unwilling to help or teach
lack of proper study materials and lab equipment's unavailability

Placement Experience:

Placement is brought in through CGPU, a body for placement assistance. They provide some initial training for clearing the screening tests for placements. Placement process is usually conducted on campus and CGPU decides if you are eligible to apply. There are some rules that need to be followed that are set up by the college while sitting for placements.

Remarks:

It's one of the top colleges in Kerala for Engineering and has a great legacy. It's a government college with reduced fees and Is said to have the most qualified faculty. The placements are also said to be very high in the college. Admission is through KEAM score, it is an MCQ entrance test covering 3 subjects - Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Allotments to all colleges under KTU is through ranking from the KEAM score. School academic score is also included.

I got In my dream College… The best college for studies and extra curricular activities

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose industrial engineering because i was interested in business management and engineering simultaneously so this was a great option…. Faculties are well educated some of the faculties are iitians. There are 8 semesters… there will be 6 months(approx)for each semester

Remarks:

This college was my dream college.. It has the best alumni. This is the best engineering college of kerala government. in order to join this college (CET).. we need to write KEAM entrance examination. According to NIRF ranking cet was ranked 108th among engineering colleges in india in 2024

What I Liked

i like that college has various fest,sports facilities and stress free environment.
i like the talented peers and supportive seniors.

What I didn’t like

i dislike the poor staff management in our college.
i dislike that the college has very hectic schedule.

Placement Experience:

our college provides variety placements for graduated students. IBM,SHOBHA constructions are some of the recruiters who have reached out to our college. package offered is 5-6 LPA as highest. 25 percent of students in civil gets placed every year. i plan to pursue my studies and take masters.

Remarks:

CET has a good reputation as an engineering college and offers a lot of opportunities for students in the field of engineering.the location and affordability also made me choose this college. I have written KEAM examination and got first allotment in CET.after the second allotment admission process began and i went to the college and submitted the documents they requested. They contacted me during the commencement of classes.

My Review for my college

What I Liked

It is great to see every department improving. Students are very happy because of the good freedom life. There are good facilities in every way.
Quality facilities, freedom, quality faculties, good political influences

What I didn’t like

There is no proper parking for faculties vehicles
Sometimes students are not satisfied with the faculties decisions about the issues happened in the college

Placement Experience:

Being a very good college, many companies are making job offers. We get placement after 3rd year. Many big and small companies are coming. Children's selection is done on the basis of cgpu. Off campus selection is done after college.

Remarks:

There was no confusion in choosing the college as it is one of the top engineering colleges in Kerala. This college was the first option after Keam. There is no interview or any group discussion for the college selection

What I Liked

The infrastructure is good, that students have their spots to enjoy
The faculty here are friendly and approchable always

What I didn’t like

Some of the infrastructure are outdated which require rennovation
The college is slightly far from the city, which some of the students have issues in travelling

Placement Experience:

After completing the course, a wide range of companies do offer placement including Lnt, alliance etc, of which top 6-10 companies do recruites, with a starting salary 50,000 / month. 40-50 % students are being placed.

Remarks:

Cet was the only option for me, because it's the rank 1 college in kerala.For taking admissions for architecture in CET, the candidate must have to write nata examination which is all india level, and should register at keam in state level,by adding the marks obtained in higher secondary is been added during the final stage.then according to the ranks and category admission is being proccessed.

Life @ CET

What I Liked

College has good Atmosphere and good faculties. It also has large library that offers a lot of books.
The college ground is also large. Also the indoor facilities is also great.

What I didn’t like

Some of the lab equipments are old and needs to be updated.
It would be better to have a good college canteen.

Placement Experience:

The college has a good placement record. But when it comes to core branches like civil and mech the companies coming are comparatively less compared to other branches. But comparing to other colleges in Kerala it still got lot of placement opportunities. Computer science, Electronics and Electrical branches have lot of placement.

Remarks:

The admission to this college is through the entrance examination KEAM(Kerala Engineering And Medical) exam. I chose this college because it is the first engineering college that was established in kerala. So it has more exposure and also very experienced teachers.
