BFIT Group of Institutions, Dehradun, manages admission directly through qualifying-examination merit and its own evaluation process. B.Tech and MBA are among the programmes available for 2026-27. The private Dehradun campus does not use JoSAA, MCC, state DTE or CLAT Consortium routes for any programme.

BFIT Dehradun UG Admissions 2026-27

BFIT offers more than 70 programmes across 9 schools, including Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Journalism, Hotel Management and Law. B.Tech is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) and approved by AICTE. Arts, science and management programmes follow HNB Garhwal Central University norms; BBA and BCA are affiliated to that university.

B.Tech has 5 specialisations, each lasting 4 years: Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. BBA is a 3-year programme offered through the business school campus. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) also lasts 3 years.

B.Sc Agriculture 10+2 PCB or PCM with 50% for General candidates. Qualifying-examination marks and personal interview.

UG Admission Process

The college uses 2 selection stages: an assessment of qualifying-examination marks and a personal interview (PI). Each contributes 50% to the final merit calculation. For B.Tech, the academic assessment uses Class 12 PCM marks; BBA and BCA use the Class 12 percentage. The college releases a consolidated merit list after both stages. Final merit rank determines the admission offer and applicable scholarship percentage.

  • B.Tech applicants may submit a valid JEE Main score during the interview. JEE Main is not compulsory, and selection primarily depends on Class 12 merit and interview performance.
  • A higher JEE Main score can improve the scholarship category available when a B.Tech seat is reserved.
  • BBA selection follows the same academic assessment and interview process, without centralised counselling or a university-level examination.
  • BCA applicants provide their Class 12 details and preferred programme when registering. No separate entrance examination is required for computer applications admission.

Apply early to be considered for the scholarship categories available at that time. Slabs depend on merit position when the application is made, and higher categories may be filled before later applications arrive.

Student Feedback and Placement Details

B.Tech students describe the faculty as supportive and experienced in industry. Engineering graduates have secured placements with Wipro, Tata and Nestle, while the placement team reports 70% of students placed each year.

Student feedback describes BFIT as one of Dehradun's most affordable management colleges for BBA and MBA. A BBA student's account mentions placements with HCL, Taj Hotels and Force Motors, a placement figure of 60%, and a highest package of INR 3.4 lakh.

BFIT Dehradun PG Admissions 2026-27

MBA and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) each run for 2 years and are affiliated to HNB Garhwal Central University. MBA is offered through the business school campus, with rolling admission across management specialisations. BCA and MCA are among BFIT's most in-demand programmes. The institute also offers MA, M.Sc and M.Com.

PG Eligibility and Selection

Programme Minimum Qualification Selection Basis
MBA Graduation in any discipline with 45% for General candidates. Graduation marks and PI; CAT or MAT scores are considered for scholarships.
MCA Graduation with Mathematics at 10+2 or BCA level; 50% for General candidates or 45% for SC/ST. Graduation marks and PI.
MA, M.Sc and M.Com Graduation in the relevant discipline with 50% marks. Qualifying-examination marks and PI.

MBA Admission Process

MBA selection assesses the graduation aggregate and interview performance, each with 50% weightage. There is no centralised counselling or required university-level examination. Applicants can present a valid CAT or MAT score at the interview for enhanced scholarship consideration; CAT is not compulsory for admission.

Candidates in their final year of graduation may apply provisionally. They must submit the final degree marksheet or provisional certificate before the academic session begins for the seat to be confirmed. Management programmes follow the HNB Garhwal University academic calendar.

MCA Admission Process

MCA admission uses the graduation aggregate and a personal interview, without a separate college entrance examination. Mathematics exposure at graduation level is assessed during the interview. BFIT BCA graduates can apply for MCA using their undergraduate percentage as the eligibility score.

BCA students who did not study Mathematics in Class 12 should contact the admissions office about MCA eligibility. The college evaluates Mathematics studied at graduation level as an alternative pathway.

MCA applicants enter their graduation details and programme preference during online registration, attend the interview at the Dehradun campus, reserve the seat and submit original documents before completing enrolment.

BFIT Group of Institutions Admission FAQs

Ques. Can a candidate obtain B.Tech admission without a JEE Main score?

Ans. Yes. BFIT primarily evaluates Class 12 PCM marks and personal interview performance. JEE Main is optional, but presenting a valid score during the interview can help the applicant qualify for a higher scholarship slab.

Ques. Which school subjects and category-wise marks are required for B.Tech?

Ans. Applicants must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The minimum is 45% for General and OBC candidates and 35% for SC and ST candidates.

Ques. What payment is required to reserve a BFIT seat, and how is it adjusted?

Ans. A seat reservation payment of INR 5,000 is required when admission is confirmed. It cannot be refunded, but the entire amount is adjusted against the total programme fees during enrolment.

Ques. Who can receive a full tuition fee waiver at BFIT?

Ans. Under the Phase II merit scheme, students scoring above 90% in Class 12 qualify for a 100% tuition fee waiver. Eligible Uttarakhand domicile students can separately receive a 100% tuition scholarship regardless of their Class 12 percentage.

Ques. How does a CAT or MAT score affect an MBA application?

Ans. MBA admission depends on graduation marks and a personal interview, so CAT is not compulsory. A CAT or MAT score submitted during the interview can support consideration for an enhanced merit scholarship.

Ques. How much weight does each stage of BFIT selection carry?

Ans. The college conducts 2 stages for all programmes. Class 12 or graduation marks contribute 50%, and the personal interview contributes the remaining 50%. Admission does not involve centralised counselling.

Ques. Which affiliating and approving bodies apply to BFIT programmes?

Ans. B.Tech is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) and approved by AICTE. Arts, science, management, BCA and MCA programmes are affiliated to HNB Garhwal Central University. Diploma courses have Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education (UBTER) approval.

Ques. How can an applicant awaiting graduation results secure an MBA seat?

Ans. Final-year graduation students may apply provisionally. Their seat is confirmed after they submit the final degree marksheet or provisional certificate before the academic session starts.

Ques. What records must be presented during campus enrolment?

Ans. Applicants need Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, a character certificate, migration certificate and passport-size photographs. A caste or domicile certificate is needed where applicable. The college checks the original documents at campus enrolment.

Ques. When does BFIT stop accepting applications?

Ans. There is no single fixed closing date because admissions operate on a rolling basis until seats are filled. Early applications are recommended, as available scholarship slabs depend on merit position at the time of application.
