BRD Medical College Admission Process

Admission is based entirely on the relevant NEET examination and counselling process. Of the 150 MBBS seats, DGME UP counselling fills 85% under the state quota, while MCC counselling allocates the remaining 15% through the All India Quota.

MBBS Admission

Applicants must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31 of the admission year. They must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, securing at least 50% in PCB. The minimum is 40% for SC/ST students. A valid NEET UG score is compulsory.

  1. Register through the UP NEET counselling portal at updgme.upsdc.gov.in.
  2. Complete document verification and enter the preferred colleges during choice filling.
  3. Wait for allotment, which is decided using NEET rank, domicile status and category.
  4. Report to BRD Medical College with the original documents after receiving a seat.
  5. Pay the required fee to confirm admission.

MD and MS Admission

NEET PG is the entrance test for MD and MS admission. State-quota counselling is conducted by DGME UP, while MCC handles the All India Quota. Before the counselling cutoff, applicants must hold a valid MBBS degree and finish a one-year rotating internship.

Radiodiagnosis, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology are among the more competitive clinical choices. Closing scores are generally lower in non-clinical subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology. The college also provides training in Psychiatry and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the eastern Uttar Pradesh region.

PG Diploma Programmes

Admission to PG Diplomas in Anaesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Child Health, and Orthopaedics follows NEET PG-based DGME UP counselling. Students must have completed both MBBS and the required internship.

BRD Medical College Campus and Infrastructure

The teaching hospital contains more than 808 beds. Its separate 108-bed Epidemic Ward manages Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and other disease outbreaks. As the main referral centre for more than 15 eastern Uttar Pradesh districts, the hospital also receives people from Bihar and Nepal.

Major clinical and non-clinical departments operate on campus. Practical preclinical instruction is supported by laboratories for anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology and microbiology. A dedicated Blood Bank and Department of Transfusion Medicine serve the hospital's large patient load.

MBBS students can use hostel accommodation. The campus is in central Gorakhpur and is connected to Gorakhpur Junction railway station and Gorakhpur Airport. A government pharmacy college was added to the campus in 2019.

BRD Medical College vs SNMC Agra vs MLNMC Prayagraj

During UP state NEET counselling, students may consider BRD Gorakhpur alongside Sarojini Naidu Medical College (SNMC) Agra and Motilal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC) Prayagraj. Each is a major Uttar Pradesh government medical institution with 150 MBBS seats and a similar fee structure.
