Sarojini Naidu Medical College (SNMC) Agra is a government medical institution that began in 1854 under the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It is among India’s oldest medical colleges. SNMC Agra Admission Process

Admission at SNMC Agra is based on the relevant entrance examination followed by quota-based counselling. The college does not hold a separate test or interview for MBBS applicants.

MBBS Admission

NEET UG is compulsory for every MBBS applicant. MCC allots 15% of the seats through the All India Quota, and DGME UP fills the other 85% through the Uttar Pradesh state quota.

  1. Complete 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. General Category students need a minimum PCB aggregate of 50%, while SC, ST, and OBC applicants need 45%. The student must be 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year.
  2. Appear for NEET UG and obtain a valid rank.
  3. For an All India Quota seat, register at mcc.nic.in after the result, add SNMC Agra during choice filling, and take part in the applicable allotment rounds.
  4. For a state quota seat, complete registration on the DGME UP portal. Its choice-filling and seat-allotment rounds are separate from the AIQ process.
  5. At reporting, provide the NEET UG scorecard, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, Aadhaar, passport photographs, and a caste certificate when applicable.

The General Category AIQ closing rank for MBBS was 7212 in Round 3 of 2024. DGME UP publishes state quota cutoffs separately. These ranks generally differ from the AIQ figures, and the state route typically requires a numerically lower rank at the same college.

MD, MS, and PG Diploma Admission

A valid NEET PG score is required for every postgraduate medical seat. MCC conducts counselling for the 50% PG All India Quota. ABVMU and DGME UP fill the remaining 50% state quota. SNMC Agra currently has no admission route through NEET SS or another super-speciality process.

  1. For MD or MS, applicants must hold an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised institution and must have finished the compulsory rotating internship.
  2. PG Diploma applicants follow the same academic and internship requirements as MD and MS applicants. A PG Diploma lasts 2 years, which is one year shorter than the 3-year MD and MS programmes.

Among these colleges, MLN Medical College Prayagraj has the largest attached hospital, with more than 1,300 teaching beds, and faces greater NEET UG competition because of higher demand. SNMC Agra is the oldest of the three, having opened in 1854. MLB Medical College Jhansi serves the Bundelkhand region and is less competitive by NEET closing rank.
